I would like to post something like, do these people actually watch football, played football, which is OK if your a chick but really I'm with ID here harden the **** up and stop putting shite on our players and realise we are already in the finals and have a bunch of injuries and are good enough to be ****ing proud of..whoops shite I already said it, oh well **** it.

I wasn't offering ideas, I was commenting on your post, which first suggested we delist our fringe players to stock up on youth, then suggested we trade for a big player.

Presumably these things are mutually exclusive - we'd have to trade our draft picks to get a big player, which would limit the quality of the youth we bring in. Unless you mean we should trade one of our big players to get a big player.

Let me dumb it down for you ok mate, we have an untried player in McInnes who needs testing out to see if he can cut the mustard. Upgrade Dick and Tunbridge to cover our injured players in LeCras and Nicoski if we have the room to upgrade them ( I don't know if you can do 2 or only 1 ) Then if possible shop around Stevens ( something we rarely if ever do ) and perhaps with a 3 way swap snag someone decent to bolster the midfield for next years full on tilt at a flag.

We don't need much, just a fit squad and another top mid and some luck.

Thankyou Thankyou, good to see things like that get noticed.

The man took the words right out of my mouth at the time. People come on here with there emo persona but half of them talk sense, it's just in a very down way. Better then people saying "wait till we get lecras back then you will eat your words! I think we will win the GF!" Then worsefold announces he's out for the year. "We will totally trump sydney you big negative nancies!" Get pansted by 10 goals. "Don't stress about why worsefold isn't playing mcginnes guys he's got a plan, your all so negative!!!!" And then boom. Why don't people like that ever get dissed? Speak sense, you might like it.

DS out.

I never wanted to argue with you, but it's not exactly 'dumbing it down' if the plan involves perhaps possibly snagging someone and some luck...

My first question was genuinely whether you thought we should bring in lots of youth like Freo have done over the past couple of years, or if we should package up some picks for a senior player, like we did in the mid 00s

But now i realise you probably meant the latter, along with bringing in our untested players in the WAFL and rookie list.

IMO though we will get no top mid by shopping around any of our fringe players bar the KPPs and first rounders - Stevens will be a sweetener if anything.

Stevens and a pick for Sylvia.
It'd have to be our first pick and even then it mightn't be enough for Melbourne to agree unless he wanted out.

I'd take the deal but it would look very McLean if he didn't perform.

What's the big deal? I don't think we can realistically set our sights on the premiership this year. Patience is required. It's not like we never endured a 12 year premiership drought. Getting to the premiership should be just as enjoyable as winning it. It really pisses me off that the recent dark years put a dent in our record as the best club the AFL has ever seen.

Geelong's recent domination also pisses me off. It's going to be good times seeing us rise to become AFL royalty again. That's not to say that there's no reason to give it a bloody good go with the time we have left this season. I'm looking forward to playing the other top sides and hopefully kicking them in the nuts as hard and as often as possible (not literally though).

A friend of mine once shouted me to a match at the MCG on the condition I sit where he wanted. Which meant I sat the entire game right in the middle of the Richmond members. They led all day and we beat them with the last kick of the day. I think it was Kemp who kicked the winning goal. I gave those Richmond members bleeding hell that day. 5000 of them vs one loud mouth Eagles supporter. But at the end of the day they had to admit that we're better than them. And this current squad of ours is capable of teaching the rest of the competition that lesson. All hail the mighty Eagles and screw everyone else.
