Top 10 Votes for the Brownlow

Pavlich 3rd, he would have to poll a 3 in every winning game of Freo's plus some in their myriad of losses...pretty hard to do????

So many close games where he was clearly the best on ground. He will score about 22 votes, but Harvey and Bartel will score often enough to beat him I think.

The reason Swan will poll well again is because when Collingwood win he is invariably one of the reasons. 12 wins is a lot of opportunities for our only player who is discussed close to the elite bracket (I mean by this that commentators late this year were beginning to say that Swan could soon be considered elite - although he didn't make the AA squad).

this is how it ended up

A Cooney 25
J Bartel 24
B Harvey 23
G Ablett 22
S Black 21
L Franklin 21
D Swan 21
M Pavlich 20
L Hodge 16
M Richardson 15
J Akermanis 15
B Kirk 15
R O'Keefe 15
S Thompson 15

Corey finished back on 10 votes. It's so hard to judge the Geelong wins, sure Ablett and Bartel will get votes but how do you settle on a top 3 when there's S Johnson, Chapman, Selwood and even players like Mackie, Stokes, Scarlett and Milburn kicking around. Corey was brilliant this year, but the think the flashier players around him improved this year. Bigger surprise was Mitchell on 13, came home late with a few.

Oh yeah, and J Watson finished with 63 votes, clear winner.

Should be a good last couple of rounds but only 7 players can win it. Judd and Hodge and co just outside these.

Many people seem to overlook the prior polling of players - the umpires and not hack big footy posters do the votes. Saying Simon Black is over rated is fair enough, however in terms of this thread its bs - he is more so under rated. The bloke polls votes like nobody's business and may well win the bloomin' thing IMO.

how many votes do you think shane tuck will get? I put $5 on him @ $6.50 to get the most richmond votes and i dont think tuck will be to far off richo if he finishes under him!:thumbsu::D:thumbsu: is there a mock brownlow on bigfooty? if so could you please send the link!;)

He gets 9 in my mocklow, IMO no way he'll out poll richo. Lloyd, S. Burger, J. Brown and Porps all far better chances than Tuck to lead their club's voting at much better odds. Just my opinion though.

Got on Judd to poll in the most games at 31.00. a) his past polling b) big candidate for polling many 1-2 vote games even having racked up only 20-25 touches in a losing side. Anyone else got on money on anyone in this market?

black overated, do u watch footy mate, one of the best in the game.

Yeah agree on S Burgoyne, got 13 votes for me, Porps wasn't far away either. Despite all the hoopla, Jobe would have to be a chance aswell, played well in the games McVeigh did and could easily steal votes from him.

Had Cooney polling in 11 games, don't think that was beaten, the surprise was Swan who polled in 10, bit of value there. Judd polled in 7.

1. Bartel - had a year just as good as last year
2. Ablett - the 4 games he missed will hurt him
3. Franklin - freak who should poll well in many games
4. Harvey - had another consistant year
5. Black - had an awesome start to the year
6. Judd - second half of the year was awesome
7. Cooney - dropped off since beginning of year
8. Mitchell - can't see him getting close
9. Riewoldt - awesome second half of the year
10. Fevola - 99 goals...kicked over 7 more than 3 times this year

I also had Cooney leading Black, Franklin and Ablett at the halfway point on 17. Then Jimmy Bartel picked up 14 votes in 5 games. $5 is value for Cooney. Swan, Thompson, Kirk and Aker weren't far behind.

True, but didn't everyone say that about Bartell last year (ie ablett, stevie j more flash, more votes)

Agree on Cooney and Thompson, I have them on 21 and 16 respectively at the half. Cooney just about stops after that, though for mine still represents the most value for the win at 17s. Still the 81, 201 and 51 about Thompson at the half, to win and for the place respectively if anyone's keen for a good run at large dollars.

Honestly, I cross analysed multiple media reports from each game and put it into an in-depth excel spreadsheet that will show you not only why Swan won't poll well, but why Ablett is unlikely to win... happy to share if people want a structured/unbiased analysis of the Brownlow and the chances of each prospective winner, round by round.

Bet on Harvey, but if you're hard up for cash, place a small portion of your retirement fund on Pavlich getting into the top three.
