Oliver would be a good chance to be number 1 on my list. Also he doesn't feature in these lists often but Blicavs would be selected by 18 coaches in every best 18 in the comp. Man has influence big time.
This is a great call I should have blitz in there. Underrated by myself as well.

Wouldnt have English there, has the potential but doesnt back it up with consistent output, lacks a tank.

Bit rough there Mike! If he didn’t have injury setbacks last season, he would have been All Australian. Big reason why we lost games we shouldn’t have. Arguably our 2nd most important player between Tim and Naughton.

Think about this from my perspective. I'm a dees fan. I've got no reason to rate one player higher than another. But Oliver is just better. Oliver is probably better than Petracca at almost every facet of the game other than overhead marking. Petracca was the worst goal kicker in the afl last year. Essentially 19 goals, 46 behinds/on the fulls. Horrendous converting. Oliver is just so much better in the contest too. And has much better vision, much cleaner, better awareness and much more consistent. He's also quicker, fitter and better defensively.
In endeavouring to enhance Oliver you're making absurd claims about Petracca.

Petracca has fantastic vision and decision making, he had more goal assists than any player in 2022, was 2nd for score assists, he was no.1 for inside 50s, he sets up a tremendous amount of play by bursting through stoppages and dishing off, his ''metres gained'' for a contested bull is elite (AFL top 10), and he's a midfield goal-kicker. The best mids in history are goal-kickers.

Oliver is not ''so much better in the contest''. Oliver may finish his career as the best contested mid the game has seen, but Petracca is also a fantastic contested player. Petracca had the 5th most CP in 2022.

yeah I'm probably a little harsh on his vision and decision making. But I do think Oliver is much better in the contest. 8.7 clearances to Petracca's 4.6. I don't think stats always tell a story but I think the clearance numbers do. And both play the exact same role. I still rate petracca as a top 12 player in the comp but I want his execution to improve dramatically next season because he is unplayable up forward at the moment. Out of all 600 players, he was the worst shot for goal in the afl last season for anyone kicking more than 10 goals.

Was Dunkley in your top 5 (at Dogs)?
If he was still at the dogs this year, I’d rank him in order as most important :

Bontempelli
English
Naughton
Macrae
Dunkley

Libba now takes that spot. Bont to play more midfield minutes which gives him a huge chance in the Brownlow. Now with Lobb, Naughton, Ugle-Hagan, Darcy. Bont won’t be required as much forward.

Ugle Hagan had a break out year
Naughton can go another level I think

Macrae would be borderline top5 IMO

Even in big games? I think Trac has more X factor and potential to bust games wide open. Oliver is more consistent though.

Meh I find the Petracca/Oliver debate to be a bit redundant tbh. I tend to grimace when opposition supporters say that Petracca is much better than Oliver but the bottom line is that they're both brilliant players and I feel extremely lucky to have both.

He does lack consistency, still lacks endurance to run out games. But that’s going to happen when he was the only ruck playing. Darcy should help in 2023

English is overrated based on the 4-6 excellent games he played this year.

His body of work is still well below the competition's elite ruckman for mine.

No doubt he has potential.

Holy F**k Man…. Am I missing the reigning B&F of his club and the most expensive AFL Fantasy Footy Player in Rory Laird?
