Might have to start calling you Mr Hindsight.

So tell me Mr Hindsight, did you predict Collingwood finishing second last like none of us did? I’m sure if we had a crystal ball and predicted us going from 6th > 17th in the space of a year they wouldn’t have done it either.

Take the cape off.

Have to disagree with you here. There was lots of discussion on the board over the summer re giving away our 1st too cheaply. This isn’t a new opinion it’s just become the poor result many on the board were concerned about

Do you know Jen2310 what Collingwood see in him - apart from his size and KPF - 2 games in 4 years so not much to assess him on

A young developing player, that fits our list demographic, plus a moneyball get, in that a player who can fill a position we need to strengthen, that will come at not much cost.
Krueger obviously has the ability, hopefully if we do secure his services, more exposure to senior footy, will see him develop into a very good key position forward or back....

I think it would also be because Wells is a bloody good recruiter - So there is a fair chance he would be decent but perhaps blocked by Geelongs backline which is pretty good.

David Zaharakis gone. Not offered another contract. The one that broke our hearts on that sad anzac day game years ago.

I was actually surprised by how many people were ok with the trade at the time, couldn't work out why you would gamble so hard for such a pitiful return (for memory we kept trading back after the initial trade). I really hope the new people who have joined our club are way better at their jobs.

Very. Aside from being aligned to us what has Dib done to be on our draft radar?
Oh.
Serious.
Um okay.

He has done plenty.

Averages 20 disposals. 38 tackles in 8 games. Averages about 7 inside 50's and can kick a goal or so.

In the VFL has kicked a few goals. Has impressed everyone.

Was all Australian U16.

Was included in the AFL U19 National championship team. That doesn't happen if you are not any good.

his last game earlier this month.;

" Had a huge start to the game where he racked up a ton of the ball and seemed to be involved in every play. His quick hands and size enabled him to win a fair amount of free kicks for over the shoulder, and he was able to set up a couple of scoring opportunities, including a first quarter goal to Luke Kelvie. Laying more tackles than anyone else on the field (10), Dib’s pressure remained consistent throughout the match, even when he faded in the second half. He still had plenty of inside 50s early in the piece, and was able to worry the opposition with his mix of offensive and defensive traits. "

Later than that. If he’s in the draft pool he’s a rookie at this stage and only because he showed small glimpses at VFL level. His NAB league season was below average and he’d need a big championship’s to jump into the 2nd round. TBH I wouldn’t be shocked if we passed on him altogether.
Ha haha Comedy gold

The ones that broke my heart that day were the Pies players kicking down the line to contests instead of icing the clock in the last two minutes… Maxy didn’t play that day, and we lacked leadership on-field.

Surely you are just kidding, but it would nice if we could get him as a rookie

I agree and would love to have Logan playing with us. I would have an issue though if it was going to cost us something significant like Moore, Degoey, Elliott or Madgen.
I’d be thrilled if it was for Madgen!!!

And aside from what Jen said... he’s also in Twomeys draft team of the year

So there a fair chance he’s been noticed and go top 50-60 in the draft... especially if for the second year in a row recruiters have little NAB footy in Vic to have a broad talent pool

Details please.

YOUNG CATS WEIGH UP NEXT MOVE
Geelong forward Nathan Kreuger is trapped behind senior key-position talls and aware he might again be starved of chances next season as he contemplates a move elsewhere.

Ideally Kreuger, who knocked back a three-year offer from Collingwood last season to stay loyal, would like to remain on a longer-term Geelong deal.

But Lachie Henderson is likely to play on next year and with four key forwards ahead of him staying loyal would not guarantee him more game time next year.

His position is exactly the same as midfielder Jordan Clark, who decided to remain at the Cats this year despite solid rival interest but for various reasons couldn’t get a strong run in the seniors.

So, does Kreuger leave for a rival club, with several keen and the Pies again asking, or does he stick fat aware he might be playing VFL again?

An offer of a one-year deal would make that decision easy but if the Cats come up with a two or three-year contract he has a big decision to make.

Geelong isn’t in a position to bring in young talls for the sake of it despite the promise of Kreuger and Sam de Koning, given the premiership window is so wide open.

But there is a cost in not playing those kids.

Sh?ts and Giggles and you grabbed the hook 1st.
Of course not but I reckon he was more serviceable than Grundy this year and at a fraction of the cost. IMO the Madge went Ok this year.

Oh dear god. Go rewatch the ANZAC day game and watch him let Tippa kick 5 on him and look like a lost little puppy. Rewatch the game in Rd23 when he didn't even look to spoil the ball because he got blinded by the sun and then he yelled to blame his teammates up the field for his error.

This type of comment is the type of ridiculous insults Grundy gets for no reason whatsoever. Madgen is a VFL battler but he's not AFL quality and Grundy is a top 3 ruck in the league. To say he was more serviceable? than a bloke who will finish top 5 in our bnf is extremely offensive honestly.

Take the Grundy contract $$ blinding your bias and appreciate what he does for our team week in week out.

When I went back and looked at articles many had Collingwood as winning from the trade. We expected that we turned a future pick about 10 that we couldn't use into 3 players and points. Now obviously in hindsight it wasn't great, but you can't discredit how low morale was after trade last year and I think bringing in the kids was needed.
