Personally I hope we get to read out 'Pick 1 Nick Daicos' - what a great reward for a junior stellar career, and he seems like the type who will lap up the pressure and prestige of being the number one pick.

As an aside, you can bet your last dollar we'll enter the draft with at least 2,400 points and to be honest it won't be hard to get there...
I think Norf will want to claim number 1 for them.

Need to draft and develop your own. Cheaper in all senses.

So true, and another potential benefit of a non-name brand coach with better resources for assistants and development coaches.

North doesn’t have much publicity as a club. To pick Horne as their no 1 pick bring plenty of publicity to that club and player, something Norf could do with.

also the no1 pick gets a $10k bonus. You’d be pissed if you were Horne knowing North can’t get Daicos by nominating him.

HS reporting Thomas will likely get a 1 year deal.

We need to make some changes, and can't afford to go with the tried and tested, year after year.
As much as Thomas has been a wonderful servant of the club, l think we need to move on, and try other options, particularly with the forward setup.

" Of the remaining unrestricted free agents, Collingwood captain Scott Pendlebury will sign a new deal and Josh Thomas is likely to get a one-year contract. "

I have read that, the term " likely" usually means the HS has no idea what's going on...

he’s not the greatest small forward but don’t see the point in having no depth in that area 1 ur on minimum chips in fine with
McRae seems to want players to earn there spots so if mcreery or gin can’t keep there spots JF can slot in and keep everyone honest

According to GW, the plan is to get in a couple more small forwards, so hopefully that will be enough to just piss Thomas right off, want to move away from these sub AFL quality players

Would've the approval for JT's reported one year extension gone through McRae or is it all on GW atm? I wonder if Fly has opened the books yet and seen how bad our salary cap is.

I agree that "likely" isn't a sure thing. Last I heard he had to wait post trade period to find out. But suppose he's good depth, and thats what he needs to become if he stays.
If he has no interest elsewhere, no harm in keeping him. Plays a role.
Even if we drafted the next Charlie Cameron he’s not gonna come on right away JT is good depth and besides checkers (not counting Jamie because he hasn’t played a full season in forever) we haven’t got much experience in the forward line
Calls to show JT the door are a bit extreme IMO
I’m not even a massive fan of his just don’t wanna go full Norf or dees and get smashed cos we have a team full of kids

This is very true. The kids will benefit from having experience like him there.
