Howard, Goodes and Young delisted.

Only slight surprise is that Pearce wasn't delisted so he could be rookied.

I'm not unhappy with that, but if Tommy Young had a bit of an attitude shift he could've been a fine footballer.

I'd always like us to cut deeper, but McCartney did say we're a '5 list changes a year' type of club.

Could be more changes yet Nath. Jones, Wood, Tutt, Higgins, Cooney, Minson are all maybes at this stage.

Interesting that there wasnt any mention of the rookie listed guys.

That's true. I'd like to think we can hold onto Jones, Wood and Minson. I'm indifferent when it comes to the others.

As for the rookies, I'd like to keep Greenwood and Redpath. We have to re-rookie them and risk losing them though, don't we?

Probably, others are on the likely 'offs' list but we are retaining them for trades.

Probably more to come, but I'm surprised they didn't cut Greenwood before Young. Young put on a fair amount of bulk this year and I thought he might get another go at it. He did mention in an interview on the Bulldogs site not long ago that he really did enjoy playing at Footscray so maybe they'll offer him a contract for the VFL team.

Keen to see who else is on the chopping block in the coming days/weeks.

Yes Tommy Young what a fall from grace (Bulldog version of grace), had my doubts about him before the VFL PF then he couldn't hit a target that game, then he gets smashed by a 1st year kid who is 3 inches shorter than him in Sicily in the GF, yep bye bye, very incompetent signs.

All the best Goodesy, thanks for helping the kids out, will be a good coach in the future.

Hmmm I don't this year we could classify Roughy as of AFL standard defender think he conceded 2.5 goals a game on his direct opponent which was the worst of any number 1 defender this year (Tom Lonegan was the best with 1.3). Restructing our defence only really is in the KPP's with Roberts swapping for Roughy and Talia for Austin which I think looks better than what it was this year. Also hypothetically if we trade Minson and say 26 for 14 and Smedts then we could use pick 14 to trade in a quality KPD who would instantly improve our KPD stocks think Carlisle if he walks Frost from Collingwood and say seedsman if Collingwood want another first rounder, May etc. If we can trade for someone and still have that vital pick 5 then we could hypothetically say have Carlisle, Talia, Roberts as our 3 KPD's or better yet package up 5 and 14 + something else for Tom Lynch. I know this is very hypothectical and circumstancial but having picks 5 and 14 at the trade period or draft time puts us in a huge position to launch for some good KPP's.

Minson only finished 17th in this years BnF, can we cover for him. Yes if we trade smartly!!

Young defender in poor side concedes goals shocker !! Exclusive on Page 123.... Seriously ?? He played half the year injured, played on the #1 forward, with a side that cannot put pressure on across the ground - only at stoppages - and we're wondering why he conceded a few goals...

I get where you are coming from, if we are clever with trading/drafting we can improve the side - but we can make it a hell of lot worse by just assuming that player X will step up to replace player Y.... There is a hell of a lot of assumptions (maybe we'll get Frost/Carlisle/Lynch/May/Seedsman) in your post above.... No guarantee that any of those guys leave their current side....

I can't believe anyone that knows anything about footy is disappointed in Howard going? Defies logic.

We still also have 3 rookies to delist, Greenwood, Austin and Redpath will go. But Redpath will be re-rookied if still there (Jong upgraded).
