To whoever suggested Nathan Wilson as next Harbrow... Just absolutely speared one to Hoskin Elliot and hit another...
Hmmm

Hm, I don't get Reid @ $800k. He's OK as a second forward or defender and can pinch hit in the ruck, but he's not worth anywhere near that coin.

But moving on, if we are chasing Reid and Jaksch, how de we trade for that?

How do we get both with probable picks of about 7, 26 and 27?

Would see #26 for Reid and #27 for Jaksch more than fair.

Remember Longer went to the Saints for #25. Jaksch is out of contract and apparently Sydney need to free up cap space.

No way would 26 get Reid, not even close. Remember he is still in contract so they don't need to trade him if they don't want. Another club could just offer a lot more than 26 and get him.

I want Reid at the Dogs. I think he could work well at CHF with Jones at FF.

I think you should look at Reid's stats. He may take the odd nice mark, but overall he is inconsistent and has never dominated being the main KPF. Like I said before #26 is fair. If Sydney need to free up salary cap space they will move him on.

Would never suggest jones should be delisted. Not in the slightest. He would have quite decent trade value.
Wherever the talk of Jones being delisted (don't know how it started) is complete poppycock. He's still a valued member of the team.

It's all making some sense now.

The swans needing to free space to re-sign grundy (fact). Reid is the obvious one to move (ie high enough salary and least important).
I'm interested to know why you think this Fronk. Sydney's KPP depth is very shallow. Almost all of them are injury-prone, ageing, or, well, terrible.

They're also likely to lose Malceski, O'Keeffe, Roberts-Thomson and potentially Goodes so I don't see why they'd be desperate to shed cap. Tom Mitchell is also on a very decent salary and could request a trade.

You might of been onto something with O'Rourke's hamstrings, Dannnnnnnnnn.

He is a KP player though and you after to over pay to get them. His market value would be a mid to late first round pick.

LRT has retired, Alex Johnson has been regularly on the injury list
then they have Reid

Ted Richards is also 31
Grundy 28, then they have Aliir Aliir

I suppose it depends how much longer they think their current best KPDs can play for

I used to be open to Reid, he is a decent player but not one that screams an 850k a year key position player. If we did get him, I would rather use him as a defender. He hasn't starred or been a consistent big player, with one of the leagues best midfield to kick to him. Yet how can anyone expect him to do better with our mid range midfield with its terrible foot skills?

Reminds me of the Jesse White talk last season. Most of the people who are pro Reid, wanted White badly last year. Talked up how good he is, and could be, and how well he would fit in. And boy did we dodge a huge bullet. And going back a few more years was talk of a practically 30 year old, trouble maker named Fevola, about how we should trade the house down for him to fill in for two years which would have put out list another couple of seasons behind.

Our discussions and wish lists of key position players over the past few years has been terrible as and mostly misses, so glad we didn't end up going those ways haha :p

I still stand by my preference of letting Higgins go. Taking Jaksch with one of the second round picks, using the other on a forward whether its Keitel or something (example name), and using pick one on a key defender unless Wright or McCartin somehow slide. Would be the better draft for us

Avoid O'Rourke and WHE, simply because our front and back ends are desperate positions of need, and good mids come around often, KPP don't

You'd hope we wouldn't be paying 850k a year consistently for Reid. I'd bet my bottom dollar that wouldn't be the case. I really think he'd add to our list because by god we need some marking power around the ground. In general he's good at ground level and tackling but his kicking leaves plenty to be desired. That's the bit I really struggle with. I'm sure I'd be pumped if we got Reidy but a top 5 or 6 pick is too much for someone with his footy talents. I rate Durdin as a more gifted footy player (I unlike most see him as a forward) so would look at him and fight for jaksch

Was listening to triple m this morning before the game.
They stated that Paul Roos is earning more than the entire bulldogs coaching staff and melb wants a pick.
get stuffed

Pretty simple equation for me dannnnnn. Reid isn't that good, would net them a good pick and they have tippet, buddy and goodes could play Reids role (he barely has a role to be honest) no problem next season.

Mitchell is a beast IMO and wouldn't net them as big a prize. They just have to keep grundy so someone gotta go.

Collingwood spends 4-5 times more then us on recruitment

We pick up Bontempelli and they pick up two injury proned players

Melbourne deserve no more hand outs, they need to assess their recruitment staff
and their development team, pronto

We have no KPP depth as it is with LRT retiring , Walsh going home so cant see Reid leaving at all , plus he is Longmires little boy and loves him to death , just go and listen to Horse last trade period when Reids name was brought up.
Said Reid was untouchable and 12 months on it will be no different , plus with LRT , ROK , Shaw , Walsh going at years end he wont be pushed out due to money.
Mitchell would be put up before Reid as we have Heeney , Mills , Dunkley coming in and our oldest mid is McVeigh 29 so we have enough depth in that area but KPP no

No friggen way
Disregard draft position, and tell me why O'Rourke is better. Because everything they've respectively shown points to Hrovat being better.

I thought he meant

Hrovat is worth far more then what O'Rourke has produced to date?
Well either way my point still stands. Because at the moment, Hrovat is worth more than O'Rourke, because really all O'Rourke has to go on is the fact that he was pick 2.

You'll have less key position depth if you hang onto Reid and grundy walks. Ones a beast shut down key defender. The other is a flakey, overpaid athlete trying to play football.

I don't want Reid at all, but I believe he is available.
