So I need to clarify. 2 mates who are professionally deeply involved in trade week are convinced he comes to us. I haven’t spoken to either of them since last week but their view was that he would be coming to us.

This doesn’t mean it’s done, but that we are strong favourites to get him.

Favourites get beaten but they are favourites for a reason - they’re the most likely outcome.
I can second that. Discussions last week were extremely positive between player and club.

I'm hoping we're in the ears of a few blokes who haven't been covered by the media. Perhaps some of these names which have popped up on here without much coverage (e.g. Ah Chee)
Ah Chee isn't doing much by way of addressing age profile though is he?

I think it’s a combination of injuries, lack of games (which are related) and the current state of the Market for players who want out - you just don’t get true value. If he could play every week, you’d get a good pick - but then I’d want to trade him even less....

Don't forget the bit about this being the second year in a row that he has asked to be traded. Fans and indeed clubs tend to take a dim view of such things regardless of how talented the player might be. I'd be staggered if Powers straight bat returns to the medias questions were anything other than the usual first day of trade week(s) posturings. I'd also be surprised if we weren't already some way down the track to working out a deal to get him out of Whitten Oval. Remembering that Adams' decision to look to fields anew has been known to all and sundry for a number of weeks now.

Fool us once shame on you, fool us twice shame on us.

I hate the posturing and trade tough talk. Its immature. Declare that you'll work to a deal if it benefits the team or the player stays. None of this "he is contracted and we won't trade him" crap. I only want players I'm my team who want to be there.

But I want to rant about something and I want it now !!!!!

Adams and Dahl comp for Beams?
Mention similar a couple of days back but throwing Honey in also. Was a bit of a murmur that now that his dad had passed he may want back to here. Would have thought though that if ours had any room they’d be the choice

If Adams had one year left then I think we’d let him go for less than he’s worth but with two years we hold the aces and he can wallow in the rehab group for the next 24 months unless the price is right.
I understand the need to show him who's boss but that will only hurt us. Two years getting a decent salary and occupying a valuable list spot is doing us no favours at all if he's not committed to playing his best footy with us.

Move him on, I say.

Power is doing the right thing by saying we aren't going to be a trade pushover - we still need to maximise whatever return we can get out of him - but I'm 90% sure he'll be on somebody else's list by Wednesday week. 89% sure it'll be Brisbane.

Draft Michael Mummery late, not a Rioli by name, but at 185 cm and 87 kg needs to lose 4 kg is the next best thing at the
moment. Good skills, great goal sense and a healthy dose of mongrel.

Mate he would be 95kg right now as we speak, refused to do some testings for the NT pre combine for players invited to the AFL combine

Depends who he thinks has the best medical staff, must be planning to spend a fair bit of time with them.

If what I was told today is true we may want to hang onto 7.

Suns are set to take 2 safe players with 2/3. I.e non of the big 7. Guys they are confident will stick around.

Meaning we are very confident we will get Bailey Smith at 7. He had told clubs he isn’t keen on going interstate
That would be stupid beyond believe for the Suns to do that.

I'm with the chorus here - no way does that make sense. They either use them on the players they want and back themselves to keep them, or they trade them. No way they take say Caldwell and RCD at 2 and 3.

Also pretty much all the players up the top of the list have told clubs they don't want to leave their state if it's all to be believed.

Dogs circle premiership Hawk

The Western Bulldogs have emerged as another suitor for dual Hawthorn premiership player Taylor Duryea.

Duryea, 27, is an unrestricted free agent and Sydney football chief Tom Harley confirmed last week that the Hawks defender had a medical with the Swans recently.

It’s understood however that the Swans aren’t the only club to have been circling the 118-game veteran, with the Dogs also showing interest.
