If they are trading it off anyway, next year's first might be just as attractive. I could see GC wanting to spread the picks over the years.
That’s a good point. Although I think clubs would be wary of our future pick though. I know a few here and other clubs supporters think we’ll be shit but clubs are smarter than that. I think they’d be quite aware of our potential to move up the ladder, especially if we were bringing in Wingard

If you can’t see the difference between Fronk saying he’s loving what Power is doing and MDs meltdown saying he’s a bust then I can’t help you mate. I know you like being different and argumentative so I’ll just let ya have your little moment mike, play on

I did post once that there is a subtle difference between criticising what has happened and what might happen.
Subtle but important as it reflects more on the critic than it does on the target.
Now don’t get me wrong this is BF and everyone is free to post whatever the hell they like but FFS I cannot understand why the motivation for some posting.

I like the idea of getting Townshend. He's an excellent jobber. What he lacks in being unable to football, he more than makes up in hardness and tenacity. Replaces what Clay and Dahl used to give us down forward.

Iirc Tiges got him for pick 105 or some shit from the plastics. Surely wouldn't cost more than a 5th rounder for us.

Good call as a forward reminds me of Clay!

By the way I was driving around the UK at the time and the only Bulldog footy news I could get was on BF. I actually signed up to BF while staying in Battle.
You might now have worked out where my avatar came from.

Thought you would all be fascinated by that

Now someone convince me we need Townsend !

Townsend will fight them on the beaches he will fight them in the Virgin Air lounge he will fight them on StKilda Beach he will never surrender

Sure, but the idiotic part is saying Power isn’t doing enough because we haven’t been linked to players in the media. That’s indefensibly stupid.
I have no doubt a lot of behind the scenes work goes on but equally how many trades are completed in any year that no one saw coming because it wasn’t mentioned in the media? There has to be some loose correlation between media coverage and activity.

Put it another way, if no trades were completed in this period, how would you judge the list management team’s performance? My guess is the response would be ‘we had a crack at Wingard’ - i.e. the one we know about because it is in the media. Maybe other work/attempts were done but obviously never progressed beyond an initial discussion or anything substantive otherwise, lo and behold, it would probably end up in the media.

Ultimately you’ve whacked another poster just because they may express a view with a bit of hyperbole. I can’t see how how your opinion is supportable that it’s “indefensibly stupid”. It’s unnecessary and offensive.

Not since the Stringer fiasco has there been a ‘Bulldogs’ issue so keenly followed.
If it fails, and the longer this drags out the more I think it will, at least Sam had a bloody crack. Good on’im! He’s come in and from day dot he’s had a target and had had us in the box seat for 99% of the journey. You can stick Shiel up your arse... Wingard is the better player. I’m glad we’re in it up to our eyeballs!
The best bit is if we miss out we take pick 7 to the draft and plus we get Scott West Mk2. Sound pretty dam good to me.

Weren't you really confident ..

Yea, I was very confident. My confidence has turned to hoping like crazy. My sources are now telling me they are very wary of the Hawks. The Shiel decision has made everyone involved very nervous. The delay spells trouble. I’ve been told it’s now a 50/50 proposition between Dogs/Hawks and the Hawks are the more attractive club due to MCG and history. Personally, I think everyone needs to expect not to get him and be pleasantly surprised* if we do.

*punching the air!

I'm just staggered how many sources there are out there and they all seem to have wildly different intel.

Why does the delay spell trouble? What if the Hawks have turned their attention to Scully? Personally, I think nothing has changed and we go another day in limbo.

Or those claiming intel are now covering their butts by having a bet each way so they can say he changed his mind because Whorethorn became an option
