I reckon Townsend is a better fit for us than Wingard and we'd be stupid to pay 800k for a glorified flanker.

Pick 7 - go for a draftee
Pick 25 - R.West?
and use a third or 4th rnd pick for Townsend.

Can't do that in the AFL. Need player's permission when traded. Some arguments lately about clubs wanting to take that power away from the players but will be tough to get that one through any time soon.

You are right you need the players permission BUT then you hold him to his contract especially due to the fact he signed for 3 years.

The club made decisions on the fact they had Adams signed for 3 years.

If he is desperate enough to want to leave he shouldn't be too fussed IMO

We have to pay someone the money, why would we pay 2 or 3 very average players $800 combined who may struggle to get a regular game ?

Rather the match winner

Or those claiming intel are now covering their butts by having a bet each way so they can say he changed his mind because Whorethorn became an option
Or it could be true who knows

I have no doubt a lot of behind the scenes work goes on but equally how many trades are completed in any year that no one saw coming because it wasn’t mentioned in the media? There has to be some loose correlation between media coverage and activity.

Put it another way, if no trades were completed in this period, how would you judge the list management team’s performance? My guess is the response would be ‘we had a crack at Wingard’ - i.e. the one we know about because it is in the media. Maybe other work/attempts were done but obviously never progressed beyond an initial discussion or anything substantive otherwise, lo and behold, it would probably end up in the media.

Ultimately you’ve whacked another poster just because they may express a view with a bit of hyperbole. I can’t see how how your opinion is supportable that it’s “indefensibly stupid”. It’s unnecessary and offensive.

I guarantee my assessment won’t be “we had a crack at Chad so Sam Power is [insert]”, as you suggest. That would be even more stupid than the posts we’re discussing.

Personally, my assessment will be based on how many breakfasts Jonathan Patton has at VUWO. Power getting an F from me so far.

But that’s yesterday’s news buckaroo, we have a fresh new day to decide if Sam Power is a failure or a god! :rainbow:

I find pick 2 & 3 interesting for GC do they draft the two King boys and hope that being together will help settle them and want to stay up there? Same goes if they pick two SA boys. Do they just pick the best 2 and hope for the best?

This doesn’t even factor in potential injury issues or lack of development that all draftees face.

Or is it better to have 3 top 11 pick? With the hope that 2/3 are successful pick.

Aside from Libba allegedly enjoying an illicit substance or two previously - why would Essendon be interested?

Why wouldn't they?

Injuries and personal issues aside, he is still a gun player and a contested ball winner. Every club could use a Libba.

I wouldn’t trade 2 or 3 for all of Adelaide’s first 4 picks and their next year first. They absolutely need to draft Lukosius and Rankine together in the hope of retention. The GC sports club curse is smacking them across the face harder and harder and the only way out of it is success which needs elite talent. Luk and Rankine are gold and exactly what the GC needs after being “Clayton-Ed” for so long. I’d be telling both SA clubs to GGF’d. Doesn’t help us with getting Chad over the line but I see it a must play for Gold Coast.

So will today be the day that the piercing silence from Chad and his Agent will be broken?

Also, who is his Agent?

Its clearly Scragcity as he has been running an exemplary disinformation campaign on behalf of his client.

Been thinking the same. I’d assume GC would have spoken to the SA boys about it even though it hasn’t been in the media. We mostly only hear about either disgruntled players venting or what player managers want out there

How was he exposed

Serious?!

Was probably my crowning achievement in here. Am sure some members can remember.
Staphy was posting and I noticed a similarity between Staphy posts and Mark Stevens tweets.

I did a check and there were some nearly word for word.
I threw it out there as a possibility and some other members went and tracked it back further.
When we threw out the allegations on line with alot of laughter there was no response and has never been a response.

So if Stevo is in here somewhere would be best to check the account hasnt been renamed from "Staphy" or the account had to be created after Staphy last post.

Hi stevo if your reading this
