Charlie Cameron comparison is hilarious . Cameron has kicked more than 2 goals 3 times THIS YEAR against top 8 teams. Tippa has done it TWICE in his career.

Fantastic pressure forward, kick for goal, field kicking. Decision maker.

You’ve got no idea mate if you think that’s only worth 400-450.
If he’s only worth that, than why is a player like him so hard to find ?

Particularly when you consider the average player salary is mid to high 300k now. He is worth more than a slightly above average player. I think 500-550k personally, but then you have the extra required to get a guy out of a club, which then pushes it up to near on 600k.

Apparently 650k which is way overs

Laugh how everybody last week was saying no Tippa over the last 3 weeks until last night

Paying anything over 550k (even that's generous), is overs. Not consistent enough for my liking

If the argument is that he has the ability but just goes missing sometimes that is even better as it means there is something there to improve on. Look at how Bevo has changed the game style of Lipinski, Matt Boyd, Crozier, Dunks, Naughton, even Hunter all players with elite attributes that Bev has been able to identify potential, overcome weaknesses and turn into star players.

He is clean, he can kick, he can tackle, he can kick goals..........fmd for $100k overs who cares?

Essendon are in no way the benchmark for list management. They are about to go 16 seasons without winning a final.

I’m with MD on this one. My biggest worry with MTW is his physical condition and inconsistency. At this stage of the year he should be in peak condition. can’t imagine what he would be like in 2-3 years time, and what if he was sidelined for an extended period....I just think we throw big money at KPDs. Adress our biggest need and then see what we have left for cream players. If Cavarra and West come good (west likely) cavarra hopeful but I’ve watched him in vfl and Hes a very clever player, then our small forward stocks are good....

The reason they aren't offering him 650k isn't that they don't want to, it's that they can't. Their cap is squeezed in a big way.

I've been to see plenty of Bombers games live and Tippa does not stop running. Have a look at his numbers for distance run and top speed. Nothing wrong with his fitness mate.

I agree 650 is overs, but then I double taked - Its not like Im paying it out of my own pocket, lol. Why do we care about about paying 200K 'overs'. we are probably struggling to make the cap as it is - we have to give it to someone! Perhaps we have given up on the idea of paying 1.2mil to some superstar who isnt going to actually come to the club anyway, and we will grab 2 good players for $650 each instead. Probably a better move

Is he inconsistent? He’s been pretty good every time I’ve watched him.

He have more cap space than anyone else in the competition. We can easily fit Tippa, Keath and Martin and keep our playing group together (although I do think Bailey Williams will leave).

You're comparison of Cameron to AMT is like comparing a television to a rocking chair. Cameron plays deep isolated in his forward 50 most of his ground time and basically has carte blanche from Fagan to freelance when the ball in his forward fifty and not apply as much defensive pressure as other Lions players like Bailey, McCarthy or Rayner (fair enough he's pretty dangerous). AMT will (if you've actually watched him this year) play half-forward and play up the ground as a link up player and one of Essendon chief ball-users entering f50 (a better comp for him would be Willie Rioli or Jason Castangna) in addition to kicking goals when Essendon's ball movement's flying. If we got him - I'm guessing he would probably play the role the McLean has played this year.

The amount of players in the comp who would make as many repeat high intensity sprint efforts as AMT over four quarters would be very few.

Seriously - I went to the North Essendon game when I was down in Melbourne over the holidays - despite his body type physical conditioning is a major tick in his column not a cross.

Fair enough. I guess I have my concerns but I’d be happy to be wrong and if the club think he’s got the tools and quality to improve us then I’ll back them in. I still want a KPD as the priority.

I agree. I am not against ATW I am against 650. Overpaying might be necessary to get him here but my concern is the effect it could have on the rest of the playing group.
