Any reason why he wants to goto Essendon*? Not in love with the club? Opportunity and money?

I think it's being undersold how much the opportunity to play/be in the same workplace as his brother day to day is impacting this decision.

Big brother Josh feels obligated to help his brother.

Even though we got smashed in the centre we were ranked 2nd for scores from the centre in 2020 but we were appalling from throw ins...

Western Bulldogs - 2020 - Home and Away - Scores From Stoppages
From Centre Bounces we scored 27.16 ranked 2nd.
From Throw Ins we scored 18.23 ranked 18th.
From Ball Ups we scored 18.18 ranked 2nd.

Overall for Scores from Stoppages we were ranked 5th.

Essentially we are not that far off and just need a few tweaks.
Stats can be manipulated to support any argument. Of all arguments in any discussion, stats are the last thing I look at.

Money would be the biggest however Essendon would have sold him the whole vision of being the number one mid leading a team of mids that they'll assemble around him. We want you Josh to set the standards in this place, be the leader you were meant to be!! It's time to step out from behinds Bonts shadow and show the football world just how good you are.....blah blah blah... Sounds like he's buying it or at least listening? Time will tell, we still have the best hand at the table :) ]

Dunkley to Bombers will happen if the deal is good enough

Have also been told this. It's purely a business decision with the dollars being offered

He loves the club but money talks folks and football is a business.

I also love where I work but if I was offered close to double I'd **** off too

However won't happen if the bombers can't satisfy us

If Dunkley leaves and we get two first rounders, we must then on trade them, and 12 for established players. We could pick ourselves up some genuinely good players with 3 firsts in our arsenal, as well as potentially recoup some points at the latter end of the draft.
We need a small forward, and two talls in some combination of positions.

Easy to say that

Not saying it's easy to do. We need to get older and more experienced, and 3 first rounders (maybe even 4 if we chuck in next years) is some pretty crazy trade value to have up our sleeves. Could be a once in a blue moon opportunity to go out shopping for our exact needs, targeting experienced and quality players.

Actually stats cannot be manipulated at all. They simply represent what has happened on the field.
People may use stats to support or refute different arguments in non-sensical or mischievous ways, but the stats themselves are just a recording of what has happened. They are useful in disproving people's biased accounts of things they see on the field though. It's when people say stat says x, therefore y (an irrelevant or non-causal outcome or conclusion) that can be an issue.
In the post you quoted from Oliver he just presented some numbers to reflect what happened on the field this year.

I’m assuming the $650k is BS?

Following up on this

Dogs want Pick 7 and 8 as they want to use draft picks before the Bid for Jamarra
Why oh why do we want another draft pick! Use those picks to get some players that will improve us now, while our core is still in their prime.

It will be interesting to see what happens of a deal doesn't get done and Essendon are left with Kyle.

Please let that happen
While I don’t think Kyle is horrible, it can’t be a great look when everyone at the club knows the only reason you’re there is cos of your bro.

How high up does 7 and 8 get us I wonder. If it could get North’s pick great. Crows pass on JUH due to a deal for 12, no bid at 2/3 depending on Crouch compo, Swans have their own NGA so may not bid on JUH either leaves his sliding to Hawks.

How do we know they won’t have an immediate impact? Look at Smith, Naughton etc for us or pretty much any player from the top 10 of the 2018 draft or Matt Rowel last year.

This years draft is the most difficult to assess in modern memory.

We should be stashing bulk picks for 2021.

Our clearance work is a bit overrated for mine. Against the top 8 teams, Richmond was the only team we beat in the centre clearances. We also rucked with English and Trengove in this game. Our stoppage work is better, but we are often playing 1 extra number around the stoppages, so it's really not that good. Here's the numbers against the top 8 sides.

vs Collingwood Round 1

Centre Clearances: -10
Stoppages: -3

vs St Kilda Round 2

Centre Clearances: -5
Stoppages: +2

vs Richmond Round 9

Centre Clearances: +1
Stoppages: +1

vs Port Adelaide Round 10

Centre Clearances: -3
Stoppages: +4

vs Brisbane Round 11

Centre Clearances: -8
Stoppages: -3

vs Geelong Round 14

Centre Clearances: -2
Stoppages: -6

vs West Coast Round 16

Centre Clearances: -1
Stoppages: +5

vs St Kilda Final

Centre Clearances: -4
Stoppages: +6

Total

Centre Clearances= -32
Stoppages= +6
Yep but not sure that tells the whole picture as you still need to win the games you haven’t selected

What i am against is getting just a tap ruckman as they basically become a liability for the majority of game time

Might not be any decent players available this close to trade period. We’re not exactly known for pulling a big fish either. Not saying I agree but we’re clearly more comfortable developing our own. Pick 12 could also be in play for a player already.
