Honest question.

Would anyone want Josh Bruce if we paid some of his salary?

I know Bruce was poor this year, but at something like his best, a mature kpf with genuine physical presence to take pressure off Naughton and Jamarra and who can help out in the ruck is pretty necessary to our list.

If we lost him we'd be desperate for another just like him

Now I can again get a hair cut was thinking of doing so tomorrow. Which reminded me last time I got it done went to a different place than normal and got chatting footy with the hairdresser who was a passionate Blues supporter and also a close relation to Dunks. Can’t remember if she was his Aunty or Dad’s cousin, later I think. Anyway if I do hopefully she is working and is the one who does my hair. Might get a scoop.

Maybe a second and Tory Dickson?

Pretty fair, really.
DDDICCCKKKOOOO? NOT DDDDDDDIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOO EVER!!!!! HE IS PART AND PARCEL OF BULLDOGS HISTORY. DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO THE LIFE AND SOULD OF AISLE 22.5!

Agree, I'm not ready to throw Bruce in the bin yet. He needs to lean down and get his athleticism and leap back somewhat. If he can start competing in the air to a decent level matching up against him, naughton and JUH aerially may become a nightmare. Play Jamarra at HFF or wherever he fits for now and with his mobility and marking hopefully he'll have an impact early for us.

Stick Jamarra in the square against the FB gorillas of the comp in his first year and it may not go well

Awesome! Congratulations :)
Your life will change forever, and for the better. Enjoy the ride. Support mum, she will be ten times more tired than you will ever be. also if the breast feeding becomes a difficulty be there for her. baby and mum have to really work together and mums get really worried and stressed. all the best to the three of you.

We actually do all right in clearances so I don’t want someone who can’t offer more than taps

Our clearance work is a bit overrated for mine. Against the top 8 teams, Richmond was the only team we beat in the centre clearances. We also rucked with English and Trengove in this game. Our stoppage work is better, but we are often playing 1 extra number around the stoppages, so it's really not that good. Here's the numbers against the top 8 sides.

vs Collingwood Round 1

Centre Clearances: -10
Stoppages: -3

vs St Kilda Round 2

Centre Clearances: -5
Stoppages: +2

vs Richmond Round 9

Centre Clearances: +1
Stoppages: +1

vs Port Adelaide Round 10

Centre Clearances: -3
Stoppages: +4

vs Brisbane Round 11

Centre Clearances: -8
Stoppages: -3

vs Geelong Round 14

Centre Clearances: -2
Stoppages: -6

vs West Coast Round 16

Centre Clearances: -1
Stoppages: +5

vs St Kilda Final

Centre Clearances: -4
Stoppages: +6

Total

Centre Clearances= -32
Stoppages= +6

Essendon are desperate for tall forwards. We could package up the Triple Josh Combo: Schache, Bruce, Dunkley.

If anyone’s concerned about Dunks’ love for the club - go back and check his celebrations after his goals, especially late in the year.

Pick 12 worth 1200 points (match bid at 9).
Picks 20 and 29 together worth 1500 points (enough to match a bid at 5).

Was exhausting enough adding that up so not sure how the other trades pan out but would assume we finish at least 8 spots higher than crows next year (perhaps).
From AFL.com.au

“Adelaide is also understood to have enquired about pick No.12 from the Western Bulldogs, who are looking to trade down the draft order due to their first-round selection likely being absorbed when it matches a bid for highly-rated Academy prospect Jamarra Ugle-Hagan.

INDICATIVE DRAFT ORDER Your club's picks as they stand

Along with picks No.1 and No.8, the Crows also have selections No.20, 29, 44, 50, 60, 74 and 92”

Unless something changes, expect 12 and a future 2nd and 3rd, to be traded for 20, 29 and a future 3rd.

Adelaide will push to keep 20. Opening pick of day 2 has created a bidding war since they split the draft. We can still do pretty well trading with them but I think they'll resist using that pick. They also may need to retain whatever is needed to get a deal done on Hately

We’re into hospital tonight for the induction of our first baby. Slightly s*itting myself but will be using BigFooty.com as one of my distractions (in between massages for my wife) tonight while we have hours to burn.

There is no day 2 of draft this year so there wont be any bidding war.

I'd say the fact they brought in and played Cameron in the ruck in the finals even over grundy at times suggests hes not a good ruckman but i can see you clearly wont accept that and will move on
Not necessarily they may have wanted to keep their forward structure? Richmond are loathed to play Lynch as a ruck as do Port with Big Charlie for the same reason (I know Cox is not in the same league as those two but important to Collingwoods structure) Adding a second ruck option like a Cox will assist us as well hopefully although I’d prefer a seasoned 1st option myself.

Confused why we would include a future 2nd

To stop Adelaide bidding at pick 1?

Not only do we pick up roughly 300 points from the picks traded this year, we pick up another 500 odd points for avoiding a bid at pick 1.

Must admit though it would look alot better if it was Adelaide's future 2nd coming back to us not 3rd.

If it’s Adelaide we decide to trade 12 to we should all be hoping they get pick 2 compo for Crouch as well. Assuming the nod and a sink extends to passing at pick 2 as well.

I know it’s probably nothing And I’m over thinking it but looking At Dunks twitter account - gee wizz he bleeds red white and blue.

This is worth a read for anyone who missed it and might be questioning his feelings about the club. Regardless of where this leads I'm pretty confident his love for the club and Bevo is real. It's also why I think if there's any truth to him being disgruntled, wanting more money or whatever it is he's worth fighting to keep.
