He’s out of contract. If he nominates them … well you can guess the rest.

They still have to get it done though he can’t walk there for free, and there’s no PSD risk.

They’ll pay close to market value for him, it happens every year where people talk a big talk but same result every time - ie they pay market value or close to it.

Even more so this time as from the outside it doesn’t seem like Dunks even has much of a preference, highest bidder wins - play them off on each other. Yes he’ll still go to his preferred option but he can’t walk there so they’ll pay market value, being a top 10 pick

Part of Dunkley's choice of club would almost certainly involve conversations about how much they're willing to potentially pay in draft picks for him, especially after the failed moved to Essendon. That doesn't mean the club he chooses will give us anything we ask for, but Dunkley won't want to go all the way to the last day of the trade period again. If two clubs offer the same contract but one says 'We'll offer the Dogs a fair price' and the other 'We're prepared to negotiate to get the best outcome for both clubs' I'm sure Dunkley would go with the second.

Could very well be a Brayshaw situation, wanting an extra year or something. We obviously haven't offered it as we would have announced. Everyone involved (Dunks, us and a potential suitor) are keeping their cards close to the chest, Dunks obviously doesn't want a repeat situation of last time.

There’s nothing to say he hasn’t already signed, he’s the one big name left we’d be holding it to use the news strategically. I’d suggest if he has it probably gets announced in the lead into our first final or something like that.

To be completely honest the way he’s been playing the last few weeks makes me think he has signed and the complete buy in we’ve been requesting is there. I know you could argue that he’ll want to put on a good show for other clubs etc but I don’t really buy that, it’s easier said than done, the way he’s been playing is the way someone whose invested in their team & teammates plays. Not someone whose already half way out the door.

Lot to play out still, could go either way IMO.

Just don't see them having the trade capital to get both. Hopper's value is a lot lower than 18 months ago but he is still contracted and won't go for anything lower than a good 2nd.

I actually feel like it's the exact opposite.
He's one where you look at his stats and think he's really good. Then he goes away and your team performs more efficiently.
