Whilst losing Dunkley would be a big loss especially with his form over the last couple of weeks I can't help but think it may be a blessing for us. On paper we have an exceptional midfield however how many times do we see it dominated by inferior opponents and have them walk out of the middle, For me they just don't gel or cover each others weaknesses or bring out each others strengths. Look at Melbourne Oliver/Petracca rack up the ball inside and out whilst Viney/Brayshaw cover the defensive side and hold their whilst always working hard to get their own ball. We don't have that, Libba is very good in and under but is terrible at holding his position, Bont/Macrae/Dunkley are always following their man in giving them a free run through the contest, Treloar has gone off this year looks a lot slower and not quite there between the ears for me, Baz has gone a mile backwards after a decent start to the year and needs to work on his defensive pressure more than his kicking. Overall I feel like what is supposedly our biggest strength has become our biggest weakness and needs a bit of a shuffle around and a few newer faces to come in and even it up more.

Our midfield was absolutely elite for periods when it was built around Bont, Macrae, Dunks & Libba in recent years. We've thrown in Baz & Treloar who are quite poor defensively and it's snowballed at times in certain games. Losing Dunkley won't achieve anything because it's almost a guarantee that we'll just run a 5 man midfield of those 6 minus Dunkley.

The club needs to invest heavily in an elite stoppage coach to teach the players their roles better. Heck, I'd be pushing hard for Corey back if he was wiulling to come but I doubt it.

It's quite clear that comment was bullshit. Bevo wouldn't have spoken like he did at the press conference if that were the case. I genuinely believe the club is mostly in the dark and Dunkley himself still hasn't really made up his mind. I truly hope he does in the next week or so because the club needs to put plans in place to mitigate the loss well ahead of trade period.

I felt his comments were more a reflection of Johannisen to be honest. I didn’t watch it and feel any more or less sure about Dunkley as I was beforehand.

It’s just Chinese whispers. People love to read something and then pass it on as their own. There are some posters who clearly hear stuff but the vast majority just repeat stuff they’ve heard.
Happens all the time on the main board. Lots of “I’ve been told” or “my mail is” gets posted literally an hour after an SEN or fox sports article has been published. The fact is there is no “mail”, they just read it like thousands of others.

Who are all these people, and there seems to be more every day, who are receiving “information”, and how?

If posters know stuff, then give a clue to the source. I’ve never understood the leaving crumbs or hints but “I can’t say anymore” brigade.
I used to know a journo very well and I would happily state I heard it from a journo. Don’t have to reveal names or the paper or anything.

Can’t believe I’m saying this but, if we can get some sort of synchronisation out of Darcy, Marra and Lobb inside fwd 50 going in to next season, I’d be open to sending Naughton down back.

Have been pretty vocal against it previously but it would solve a lot of our issues. Particularly if we can’t get an A Grade defender in the off season.

Our fwd half pressure game would need to be better than it has been, with so many tall players that aren’t very good at ground level (Naughts would be missed for this), and our setup/entries would need improvement also.

Just spitballing, but we need to do something to strengthen our backline and to also navigate our way through having so many key fwd options.

It needs to at least be considered. Everything should be up for review and consideration.

No I don't... if I know something and it's definitive I'll say it... eg JJ 5 year contract after 2016.

Nah I’m comfortable with this. Well and truly an unneeded asset. Will kick a few goals elsewhere but never going to be a better choice than what’s there already.

Why? Juh, Darcy, Bruce, Gardner, Sweet, Keath already contracted for next year Lobb + Jones coming in + hopefully another 1/2 in the draft. He isn't good enough and we have depth. Hope for his sake he can get it right at another club but it just hasn't worked for us.

Also when Daniel signed it was reported he was now 1 of our hughest paid players.
That is a huge mistake if true.
With Ed coming on and Dale playing as is Daniel and Dale should never have been prioritised over Dunkley. If 1 had to go it should of been Daniel or Dale
