Chris Burgess is good player. He was very good in the SANFL before being drafted. I don't know why the suns haven't played him more.

They've played him more up forward when he was drafted as an intercept defender

Accumulating spud backmen/utilities at a rapid rate
Most everybody linked to us is an upgrade on our current stock.

What matters most tho is who will be defensive coach next year, I pray it ain't Rohan.

Rohan was defensive line coach 2013-2016 then head of development 2017-2019 then back to defensive coach when Maddocks took the role of head of development. He might move roles again or retire if they dogs find a new defensive line coach. I suspect he's just coaching the defensive line until someone else if found.

Would rather Burgess than Tomlinson really and a shot at Bowes with pick 7.
I like Burgess but he recently signed a contract extension
We're not linked to Bowes so I don't think we'll be in the hunt

Oh my ******* god, you campaigners don't get it. We were with Williamstown for a good five years before Ben Brown got drafted.

Every single ******* time "Oh my god how could we miss out on Barlow when he was under our nose" when he didn't even ******* join Werribee until we were gone. The only two that we truly *ed up on were Podsiadly and Hudson.
I was answering a specific question from a poster.

All I said was that most on here were pining for Brown as a kpp. I watched most Werribee games as I lived that way at the time and thought he was exactly what we needed and the board was in general agreement.

We took a vanilla mid instead who played zero games.

I agree it's been done to death but if someone asks about Brown again I'll answer the same cheers.

Tomlinson is essentially a burning bag of dogshit.

I'd rather roll with Mccomb in the backline.

There are no upgrades there.

I agree, if not him then who Spanger? Can anyone fill me in on Spangers coaching experience, I can’t seem to find anything about him?

JJ is a UFA so he can go wherever he wants and we might get compo. Compo for FA stops at the end of 3rd round so we may get nothing.

No one will take Bruce off our hands.

Exactly. Bruce lumbered this year (understandably) but he plays with that rare thing called spirit and he actually gives a toss, so he can stay on the list until he's done.

We were all keen on him but we decided to take a now delisted vanilla mid called Matt Fuller a few picks before.

This board went into meltdown.

PS. Tom Barrass was the next pick after Fuller but these things happen. The Brown thing was far more obvious as we needed a FF and he was dominating in our VFL team Werribee at the time.
Just and observation, not a crack at you specifically …

I love how in our heads at the same time time we can both (1) rue the years we didn’t draft gun VFL players in our own back-yard and; (2) hate the clubs current strategy of picking up a Footscray VFL gun every year.

Sure some of those we missed became good AFL players and players we did pick amounted to nothing, but over a sustained period the counterfactual would have most likely been drafting a bunch of VFL guns who couldn’t take the next step (as well as those who did) and burning some of the rookie list spots used on Boyd, Harbrow, JJ, etc.

SEN have reported that we are keen on Jack Madgen

Surely Darcy Gardiner as a free agent (I get Brisbane could potentially match) is a better shout than Tomlinson or Madgen.
