If Cordy leaves, the Jack Madgen link becomes a bit more clearer. Ugh.

To be fair, the report doesn't exactly confirm or refute anything in either your or Generation West 's posts. It speaks about Hunter himself weighing up a move, not that the club is pushing him out (there's obviously most likely a lot more to it than that, I'm not saying your info is wrong either).
It speaks of damage control on behalf of the club and his management to me.
Still crossing my fingers for a Stef Martin retirement
If Lade comes in. Its a certainty.
Right, so we've outed Edmund, now to find Stevens, Purple and Dodo....
Ive declared a number of times that Im Damien Barrett. Its no secret.

I’m still holding out hope that someone overpays for Hunter and we get an extra 2nd rounder, like that we’ve learnt our lesson and seem to be playing it much better than we did with Jake

If Cordy, Hunter, JJ and Dunkley all go this trade period that is 4 players from the 2016 premiership team gone in one off season.

Renewal. I like it.

Personally, if Cordy goes the chair in front of me at Marvel will finally be safe. Lost count of how many times I've given it a whack seeing Cordy's opponent mark as he trails five metres behind.

Look on the bright side - its 4 players from the losing Grand Final side :p

No ( I think they have been good moves) but what I am suggesting is, Is their role best for the team overall?

Dale on a wing and say Williams on the HBF may see a net gain to the team and a net loss to Dale.

This is not a Naughton back or forward debate but as an example if Naughton plays back he may enable the defence to save 30 goals plus and by playing a different forward line may result we miss Naughton's 50 goals but the forward line without him kicks 30 so there is a net gain.

Is English role best for English as we have him on the list or would a different type of Ruck say a good tap and big bodied who throws his weight around be better for our midfield.

Don't think we have sorted roles well for the betterment of the team

I’d spew up if Dale and Williams swapped roles. Massive regression. We need to improve the wing roles without losing performance anywhere else. Not rob Peter to pay Paul.

If we can shore up the key spots down back, we’d have a really strong back 6 with Dale, Daniel and Ed creating transition on the back of a stronger defensive output from our key talls. Let’s not start taking some of what makes our back half decent, to possibly, maybe strengthen another line.

From our 2016 team - only 6 years ago, their ages now:
Tom Boyd - only 27
Joel Hamling, Clay Smith and Fletcher Roberts - all 29
Shane Biggs 31

All gone by 2019. Hamling played on, but looking unlikely to even get to 100 games.

At least the 4 (potential) departees this year have had decent careers with us.

JJ stays.
Dunkley going.
Hunter seems to be going.
Cordy? If he stays, with Jones as an incoming KPD, and Lobb as a KPF/Ruck, Cordy will be competing with Tomlinson for the not-quite-KPP-size utility. And O'Brien too. I wonder how much Beveridge values that role - will he play 1 - or 2 - or 3 of them?!

Nice, more than happy for JJ to stay on a lot less coin, still easily in our best 22. Hope he gets fit over off-season, had a stinker fitness wise this year
He’s fairly versatile. I think we need to accept he’s not going to be great at anything but he’s good enough where ever he goes now.

Hopefully he can lose the tyre around the guts in 2023.

The player I would like to see moved to the wing is Bailey Dale.

The more he can be carrying the ball between the arcs and delivering into 50 the better.

Makes it easier to fit both Duryea and Ed into back 6 which gives us better defensive balance imo.

Dale has the attributes of a good winger. Good running capacity, quick enough, tall enough, solid enough overhead, lethal disposal.

Can even get a few chances to take a ping from 50, quite competent in that area too.

JJ hasn't been even half the player since he was moved out of the backline in 2017-18. If we could move Dale to a wing, and have a JJ resurgence off the half back to rebound, that would be a lethal combo. Some of my most memorable plays are JJ rebounds (2016 Prelim to the Bont goal, 2016 game vs St Kilda where he steals the ball and delivers to Stringer)

JJ playing for any other side would be criminal.

With Schache, Butler, Hunter, Crozier, Cordy and Dunkley all either leaving or there is chatter about their future I think we can afford to hold on to Wallis and JJ.

Our list demographic is going to be hit around this off season .

Gone:
Schache, Butler, Hunter, Martin, Crozier, Cordy and Dunkley

Kept:
JJ, Wallis

Get:
Lobb, Jones & draft picks.

Hoping between combining Hunter & Schache moving, that we can get an early second rounder.
