I really liked what I saw in Parker. Thought he looked like he had some serious wheels and had a real go.

Saying that, when your cut down by injury as a rookie and your without a contract it’s looking pretty grim for him to get a new deal.
In most of what I saw Parker looked a little lost most of the time - like a bloke who had only played very little football (which is the case).

Dalrymple is pretty open on what happened. The footy manager at the time (Chris Maple), didn't back him in and instead went with Bevo's drafting choice. Dalrymple hated this and he mentioned in this interview below, that Bevo held too much power at the club and he began to dislike his job. He was considering leaving recruiting altogether, but a call came from Sydney asking him if he knew of any recruiters available. Not head recruiter positions, just a regular recruiting position. In the end, he said he was interested in the job and then they opened up a head recruiter position for him and off he went.

It's all in this interview which is really a good listen. The bulldogs stuff starts around the 36 minute mark and he goes into how it all started and how it ended.
Terrific interview. Anyone know who the recruiters wanted instead of Billy Gowers? We know what we got - what did we actually miss out on beyond losing our recruiting manager?

I'm sure its been stated a few times, but the lesson is pretending the exit interview was all good helps trying to bargain for a good contracted player, vs letting the world know he is out the door no matter what.
Realistically though if people on BigFooty are saying we have pushed him out, the clubs will know the true story regardless

A lot of people making noise that Hunter is gone on here. Any theories as to why there has been literally zero mention of his name in the media? Not even a passing comment by anyone.
Reported on SEN that Hunter is weighing up his future at the Kennel

Hunter has copped some grief here for disposal etc but it’s sad if he goes in these circumstances. Was a very good player for us most of the time.

Stringer turned it around to an extent at Essendon and I hope it’s the same with him.

There are lots of players with personal issues so as long as he appears committed (and he did play a final with us so must be in shape) I think a club will take a punt.

I would like to see us hit the draft to make sure there’s a constant wave of youth coming through so it would be best if it improved our hand, even if it’s next year.

Stringer played half a decent season wouldn’t say her turned it around. He was a good player 3 years ago has been a liability since and even worse off field

By turned it around I mean his personal life doesn’t seem to spiralling anymore (unless there’s something I don’t know). I think he has reliably been a best 22 player for Essendon even if he hasn’t hit 2015-16 form.

Agree with Lachie being a good player in the past. His style don't suit the game we play now.
He could still be a serviceable player elsewhere just not with us. I don't see what he offers us other than accumulating a lot of useless ball.
The inability to kick long, inaccuracy in front of goal and lack of explosive pace hurts us. In some ways it is impossible for him to play when we have similar type kicks in Jacko and Libba. Libba is certainly the best kick of the 3 in front of goal.
I wish him well, he would be a fine pick up for a number of clubs that may need an accumulating type player.
But I am being honest here, I don't want him for any reason to be playing for us next year.

Hunter more suited to an inside mid these days, Saints need quality mids so should be interested
i don’t really think he’s suited to the modern game at all really. He like Mitchell, Crouch ect are apart of a slow dying breed who’s lack of kicking skills and speed have made them fairly redundant

Interesting to see Ivan Soldo still thrown around
