Yeah I’ve still got no issue with Power, even if this period ends up very shitty. I’m confident he’s the man to get the best out of the hand he’s dealt. Just turns out we were dealt a ****in shit hand this year to be honest.

Lobb can’t be compared to Grundy & Gunston deals, he’s literally Freos only decent forward so they’re with in their rights to ask for a good deal. It’s frustrating for us watching other, probably better, players go for cheaper but it is what it is, they hold the upper hand here. I think people are underrating what Lobb brings to our side next year too, he is a very very good get.

The Dunks situation is entirely different in that it’s literally just one club being ****in campaigners and expecting us to fold. Remains to be seen what comes of it, frankly sending him to the PSD probably stops this happening to us again over the next few years so I’ve got no problem doing it. I’d suggest Lions panic and get the deal done when they realise we won’t blink.

We probably ****ed up not shipping Dunks out last year if anything but would have been tough after a GF, plus with the Darcy draft taking up high picks but could have got F1s.

And let’s be honest, all feedback from Dunks was that he loved the club blah blah blah, so it’s on him for being a ****ing campaigner and playing us - he always knew he was going this year

Yep none of this is Powers fault he's just been dealt a really shite hand and has to try and get what he can with it

Cal Twomey mentioned today brisbanes offer is 21 & F1 for Dunkley and a pick back. Just can’t see Power rolling over for that.
Crazy that they’re still haggling over this when it literally doesn’t even matter for them anymore. campaigners, trying to resign us into feeling 21 & F1 is reasonable on the last day.

I hope we stick to our guns and let them scramble for 2x first rounders and overpay for the privilege late tomorrow afternoon when they realise we’re not budging.

**** it we genuinely have nothing to lose or care about losing, really and they will panic to get the deal over the line. They need it - would be disastrous if they lost out now just for being greedy campaigners

Their trading out 48 for Gunston means if they involve 21 to us without anything back they will have enough for Ashcroft but not Fletcher.

Not that that’s our issue.

I don’t understand why they don’t include one of their 2 future 2nds to encourage us to give them an extra pick this year

It seems painfully obvious that that is the end game. F1 + 21 + F2 for Dunkley + 39. Unders for us, but not to an insulting level. Both sides can label it a win

Doesn’t seem as if too many clubs are all that interested in Lewis Melican

I would have thought he was reasonable depth, but perhaps either the price was too high or we have to wait to see on Lobb first ??

Lost in all this Jack Bowes stuff is the carry on from Bowes himself about not being given a fair run by the Suns. Mate you were given a massive contract extension coming off some okay football, take it and run. He is still going to be making ridiculous overs for a player of his stature.

Even with GWS not bidding on pick 1 though? I’d be very very surprised if they did, Brissys already traded with them and would have known they were after pick 1 so a handshake agreement would almost certainly be in place.

But even without one you’d think the northern states would usually be the ones to let it slide seeing as they know it’ll just come back to bite them with the endless top 10 picks they get access to every second year.

If they want points back this year I’d be demanding both their F2s which I’m sure would get ticked off considering the circumstances

I think what we are waiting for is Brisbane to work 21 up a few spaces ( picks are just points to them).

If it becomes 15-19, F1, F2 for Dunkley +. 39, then we can probably take it with some reticence.

Bowes is just the latest player that most of us have never heard of who suddenly becomes an out and out star in trade period. Also, can someone please delete the ridiculous doctored image of Grundy in a dogs guernsey? It’s embarrassing to look at

I wish we won footylotto like the cats Pick 7 was Bowes for a future 3rd rounder that is insane.
We won it three times in recent years:
Marra on a bid so good the AFL changed the rules
Sam Darcy
Treloar for almost nothing on points

This year circumstances have us getting screwed. Swings and roundabouts,.

Would be nice but seemingly no one in the teens wants to drop back, and it doesn’t sound like Brisbane have the motivation to try either.

Freo now after Omeara, wonder what his value is and how the Lobb deal fits into that?

Also still people complaining about how boring this trade period is, I mean what are you expecting 😳 it’s sucked for us sure but it’s been full on this year imo

I know, it's just bloody frustrating watching Geelong get 7, Richmond get Taranto for a fair price.

I loved the Treloar trade...how did you feel about the Schache trade? Very similar circumstances and hes probably out the door already
Schache trade was fine, he was a bust.

We also got a fair price for all our trades recently and not being in a point deficit for our NGA & F/S

Geelong and Richmond are big clubs and keep on grinding. We had our chance in 2016 to be a big player but we never took the chance

He takes up a list spot at Geelong, he soakes up surplus money preventing them chasing players, and if they recruit Clark then it saves some other club having to deal him back to Geelong later.
