Is. He. Any. Good but?
Been in good VFL form by all accounts. Not quick and has played a mixture of midfield and defence.
On the brief glimpses I've seen he's 'ok' but doesn't scream 'top ten talent'

I guess this is a consequence of being set up to fail as a feeder club in the same way that GWS gets pillaged year after year.

Its a death spiral that neither club will ever be able to escape from and its the same problem that will inevitably befall a Tasmanian side.
An appropriate salary for him would be 400k I’d say. Geelong have essentially bought pick 7 for 800k.

Its no wonder I knew nothing about him. Other than the price that the GC put on his head to get him out the door.

It seemed a little odd.

That makes sense. Now.

Clever operators down there.

It just seems completely ridiculous that GC have gone to this length, I mean I completely understand a salary dump and an early 2nd rounder or hell a late first I could maybe stomach. But why have they been so bloody desperate to get rid of pick 7 in a strong draft? It’s just Mindblowing tbh.

Sounds like Geelong were interested in him anyway and I’m sure there would have been interest in Bowes contract even for a pick in the 20s but nup their starting point was 7?

They’re genuinely hopeless

BS.

Geelong ramped up interest when pick 7 became available. They're full of it

Also is anyone else’s bigfooty just cooked? Not sure what @Chief’s spending all his advertisement money on considering the crazy amount of ads these pages are filled with these days making the site almost unreadable on a mobile for the most part but * me it’s definitely not his servers
It blew up when the Schache deal was tweeted.

I do laugh at people saying we are the losers of the period after this Bowes trade and the Grundy one…
Actually we are. WTF have we brought in? For all the posturing Dunkley will go and we won't get Lobb for cheap if at all
Kidding ourselves if in any way this can be considered a good period.
Other than Lobb who I personally think is very average not one player of any quality has been linked to us.
Irrelevant at trade time it appears to me

And salary dumps shouldn't mean the new club can just adjust the salary to whatever. Cats should be paying the 1.6 over the period that GC set it. If they want the pick 7, that's the deal, if they want to smooth it, get them to agreewith Bowes to take S100k per season for the next two years of a 4 year deal.

Dogs offering a future second rounder and another pick from this year (probs 39) for Lobb
I’m okay with that tbh so long as it’s not pick 30 and we don’t ****in ship
30 off to Lions.

I still think we end up with an F2 from Lions so our hand next year isn’t really effected, we get Lobb in and we keep another pick in the top 30 this year which I like. Ed Allan anyone?

Surely they could have waited a day or two and traded 7 for a pick in the teens and a future pick, then used a lower pick to attached to Bowes. Disgusting list management.

I agree. Nothing against the Geelong team what so ever. This one is solely on the AFL.

Yep I mean im sure we’d give them 21 & a F1 for 7 and Geelong would accept 21 if need be. Just seems completely amateur to accept that 7s what they have so they’ll just give it away and make that very clear from day 1 too haha, wild

Anyway…
