Agree. He's got value but could be replaced. We need to take some risks this off season. Trading Daniel is one I'm comfortable with.
He's a free agent. Would depend on what compensation we get, which I'm quite certain wouldn't be enough to use on a player of equal quality

Matt Rendell and Kane Cornes think a 2nd round pick will get Dunkley to his next club.

We need better AFL media lol

Paine is one that I think would be worth a look. Listed at 105 kg and 197 cm. Played 18 games. Dont forget our premiership defence wasn't built on first round draft picks.

Less enthused on the others, I'll agree there...
Our last premiership backline was a mixture of rookies, PSD picks and rejects.

Unfortunately Keath's tissue hamstrings mean we need a ready KPD.

We struggle against disciplined defensive sides so Daniel (who is one of the few players who can kick through a zone) is as required as you can get

18 games in 5 seasons isn't exactly great reading considering Gardiner and Adams are often injured. Why do you like him? I haven't been impressed with what I've seen, but he does seem to be a decent athlete at least. His kicking can be shaky and his positioning is not all that great though.

You mean second pick in the pre-season draft

Second rounder wouldn't cut it. We would need to get Michael Hurley too.

Not sure if this is true but I think Bailey Smith to Hawthorn is basically done. It'll most likely be Hawks first for Baz, with either a bit more going our way or their way depending on which pick they end up with etc.

I would be in favour of asking Liam Jones if he wants to come back.

No cost and was very reliable at Carlton.

What’s this got to do with the dick measuring contest thread?

The club have chased him in the past, including last year. He's much bigger than Gardiner and Adams which is a bonus.
For me he's ok, has potential, but it's more about what Sammy is likely to do than what I want.

Same AFL media (On the Couch this time) just said Essendon would probably want a late 1st round pick for Aaron Francis to go back to SA (and Dunkely is apparently headed that way too). At least they're consistent right?

Oh yeah because his girlfriend who he hasn't been with for long plays a short netball season there.

Makes sense

Perhaps not. But maybe we get a player we need Like a developing second wing or kpd.

What's realistic compensation for Daniel? End of first or early second?

Paine is also from Queensland. Tougher sell.
