Hamling is really really struggling with his body, I don't think he's an option unfortunately.

Has been more out than in the last few years and has had a lot of issues again this year. Was mid sprint on the weekend in the WAFL and just crumpled to the ground and was done for the day. Out with an oblique strain now for at least a few weeks, poor bugger.

Would he offer any more than Schache as a defender? Feel like he would be a huge bust in our team

I’m not sold on Weideman as a defender. I think he’s a little bit more athletic and a little bit better at contested marking than Schache. But would barely be an upgrade, if at all, just more of the same imo.

If we are looking at getting a defender get a defender from another club not a forward come defender.

Given our set up with coaches at the moment I don't trust and don't think we have the ability to develop a defender who historically has been one let alone a defender who has been a forward.

Weidmann worth a shot as a failed forward turned defender. McCartin has worked out pretty well wouldn't be adverse to trying it with Weidmann if he can be convinced to come on board for the role
