Lipinski attended something like less than 30% CBAs for the Pies last year, the number will be even smaller when he returns with Mitchell running around. He is basically playing the role we all wanted him to play for us, high half forward who works his way into stoppage.

This is very true.

My point was more getting some ready made players in our system who will be ready to replace Libba, Macrae and Treloar in 2-3 years time.

Because when you look at our VFL side and midfield depth, it's not great viewing. We can't fully rely on drafting kids and hoping they dominate early on.

He'll be very good in this role given his sublime skillset.

But I find it a little ironic ironic that he is going to find himself in exactly the same position that he allegedly used as catalyst when he requested a trade to Collingwood.

Its almost like his one-pacedness has errrr...caught up with him again.
This is a bit of an oversimplification. 30% CBA attendance is not nothing, it's the fifth-most for any midfielder at the pies last year, and it contrasts to when he basically wasn't used at the centre bounce at all at the Dogs for two or three years prior. He was hardly going to go from struggling to get a game to breaking into the top 3-4 mid rotation at another club, especially one that was proving itself to be another successful club.

He's played off the HBF the last two games I've seen. Still attacks the ball really hard, I worry about how clean he is with his hands sometimes but he has a healthy dose of mongrel so he could develop as a stopper there
I love that mongrel in him and he is the fastest player at the club (JJ second). Speed is really critical to us if we're to progress in my view. If he survives winter and can get fit and in form in the VFL over that time, I think there's a good chance he'll be in Bevo's end of year calculations...somehwere.

Gold Coast offering their first round to bank points for their academy players

Even though it's likely to go to Geelong

Would love to try and snag 3 first rounds this year

IF we get an additional late second rounder, we would be an ideal trade partner. Late second rounders are good, as they can then be traded for later picks during a second trade.

Not sure how we get one, perhaps our future second for a really late second rounder…. Aside from that, West is worth a late third at best and no one else of value is likely to want to leave.

I'm sure we could con a team in taking Mclean for a second round pick

Hopefully GeeWrong. Those guys love the older players and I don’t see them seeing any value in West.

West I am hoping chooses Bombers or North and we get a late third round pick. Although, I don’t think he is worth that much.

Don't mind the idea of purchasing draft picks being floated

A lot of rebuilding teams can save solid amount of cap room to hit the cap level instead of over paying above avg players while securing solid picks

Would we take on Whitfield? That would be the big one.

WC really should but I doubt they will.

I would love to get Whitfield, he's an absolute gun in the right system but i would rather have Naughton and English signing long term deals over him

Pretty sure hes got like 4 years left at around 800-950k per year

WC should take on the contract and get a high pick for their troubles.

So overpaid and GWS really should have allowed some of their better players leave instead of making these stupid long term big money contracts.

North are stacked for developing mids (Wardlaw still hasn't debuted) and Essendon have Hobbs playing VFL.

The players we have with draft capital are the ones we don't want to lose.

I don't wish to be a grammar nazi, however, I would like to highlight a common error whilst also not identifying the perpetrator of this crime against the language.

"Would love to try and to snag 3 first rounds this year"

I find "try and" visually and grammatically disturbing so please refrain.

Strong avatar-to-post correlation.

You're fighting a forever losing battle xD

The proper use of the English language started dying years ago. Particularly in thanks to British and American kids, with their shitty slang words, and laziness in avoiding the use of big words, and full sentences. Probably also explains why the education system in both countries, is free falling in standards. In 50 years we will all be speaking in code at this rate.
