I’m at the point where I honestly couldn’t give two shits whether Jamarra left at this point providing we receive adequate compensation.

I don’t see a scenario where we receive adequate compensation though, so we’re backed into a corner yet again where we either keep a player who’s giving us nothing and hampering the team or trade a potential superstar for crap.

The AFLPA's strong stance on freedom of movement for players has had a lot to do with what's going on. Once again it's what happens when a popular sport collides with big business. The business angle always wins. The people lose.

We just happen to be among the first in the firing line. The bigger clubs, those with large memberships or big corporate backers are chortling of course.

The sport is steadily heading in the direction of the EPL (and lower leagues) where a handful of clubs will be fighting for the big prize and the rest will just be squabbling over the scraps that fall from the table.

Our best hope is that the AFL and TV networks will see that is not good for audiences, advertising and revenues. But I wouldn't suggest you hold your breath on that one.

If Jamarra wants to go then we choose the club and the offer. It’s really as simple as that.

I really haven’t commented much on the whole JUH situation but it’s pretty sad for the senior coach to be unsure whether he will play a single game this year.

For all parties involved I’d prefer he remain.

Regardless of what people think of them, we did that for Smith, Dunkley, Hunter, Dahlhaus and now potentially JUH
We did all we could to keep Dunkley, he was never in the too hard basket. Dahlhaus and Hunter were fried as players when they left our club, Stringer too never sniffed his 2015 form after leaving.

It really isn’t considering we can’t trade a player without his permission.

You're missing the point. The club has a history of throwing away players and sabotaging itself to get a shit return

If we let JUH go for anything less than a top 5 pick, or two top 12 picks, fold the club immediately.

Why are all our young talented stars leaving? Poor recruitment, culture, Bevo? Should be panic stations if we get screwed over in a JUH trade.

Again they did no such thing with Dunkley, kept him for two years after his trade request actually and offered him a deal that was on par with his final Brissy deal.

Hunter and Dahlhaus weren’t thrown away either, we somehow got a 2nd round compo pick for Dahl despite him being completely done and Hunter was retired 12 months after trading him.

Stringer we botched by leaking publically that he was persona non grata, yet in retrospect what we got for him was a great haul.

Baz is a weird one because I reckon he signs the two year bridging deal to free agency if he never does his knee.

Didn't say we discarded Dunkley, but I did say we got trash for him, and we did. It's irrelevant if Hunter retired a year after we clearly discarded him for a rubbish 3rd rounder. Tried acting tough for Smith only to accept a pick in the 20s come draft night. Understand that our hands were tied somewhat with Smith because of Cotton On, but from the outside it also looked like we didn't care so Geelong treated us with disdain

I think there will be a lot of speculation on JUH, and we don’t know what will happen, he may never play again.

Those throwing shade on the club, needs to look at the work that has gone into Marra, and also he mentioned it when he resigned.

Clubs will do their due diligence seeing if it is a fire sale, but he is firmly under contract, so whoever wants him has to satisfy us. Considering the way Geelong behaved over Bailey Smith, I don’t think the club will be ready to hand him over to them in a hurry, and they might find the karma bus hits them.

We have a much better trading relationship with other clubs. But my money is on Tassie, new club, fresh start.

Get used to it.

Unfortunately that's not how it will work.

If he wants to leave, Jamarra will pick the club, ideally for us it would be more than one club he's happy to go to so we can extract the most value. We then negotiate with them and if we are happy with the return, we trade him. If we aren't happy and believe we can still turn the relationship around and he won't be a negative for the club again next season, then we keep him.

But as players have to sign off on the trade, we will still have to appease where he wants to go also, being under contract we just have the right to say no, see you day 1 of the pre-season.

Please dogs do not deal with the cats with Jamarra they screw everyone over especially the dogs. I have not got records but what we got Stringer, Smith and Dunkley something like 19, 17 and 19 is getting screwed over.

Let him sit out this year if it has to be and do not trade at the end of season and he can sit out 26. Even if we get less I am sick of getting screwed over because the other teams know we are soft.

I can confidently say that the Dogs won't (willingly) deal with Geelong after the Bailey Smith stuff around last year. A lot of inner sanctum people at the club still feeling burnt over that whole situation.
