warnambool is 1hr hour closer to geelong than the western suburbs, so thats a clincher.
Logically you are correct. What is one hour, right?

The problem you have when trying to understand the answer to something that seems otherwise superfluous, is all in the framing of the question.

It's never about the sheer logisitics.

Geelong is an hour out of Melbourne rather than an hour closer to Warrnambool.

Since many of Geelong's players live half an hour west of Geelong (queue the farm comments), he's potentially far enough away from the bad influences of the city to remedy many of the rumoured contributing factors to what he's dealing with.

He's a country boy - an indigenous one at that - and his issues are most probably multifaceted. Being 1.5 hours from home, and 1.5 hours out of the big smoke could potentially do him wonders.

Trading in the bad influences of the city, for the bad influences of Geelong, the same sorts of bad influences, along with his mate B. Smith.

On that logic, interstate seems a much better destination for him than a mere 1 hour drive.

Since your question didn't specify exactly what you were reaponding to, I will take a stab that you asking me to validate his reported likelihood of requesting a trade to Geelong.

It would be a combination of factors; namely the (albeit unreliable) AFL media landscape reporting, combined with him having been brought up in Warrnambool.

There are many rumours swirling around, and many are likely to be rubbish. However, a few on our board often know tidbits which have historically turned out to be correct.

What has been discussed on our board is that Geelong had been in very close contact with JUH well before he was drafted, with dialogue having remained consistent since then.
Right, so Marra resigned with us for two years, planned to go off the rails so he could get to Geelong. According to your board with Bont, Butters, Rowell amongst others.

Seriously, Geelong benefited from the old father son rules to snag a premiership after a long, long drought, unlike us that did it the hard way. Since then you have become insufferable, lazy jerks. Go to the draft get your own talent and develop it. Geelong is a scourge on the AFL.

We all knew on this board that the instaw***er was going to Geelong due to him being tapped by Cotton On for a dodgy under the table deal for years.
So a lot of supporters here are rightfully upset, so if you can't read the room that's on you.

Now if we have to suffer through another year or 2 of constant f@#ken Geelong supporters coming onto our site, to further antagonise us with stupid JUH trades, then of course you will told to f@#k off a few times. We don't want you here.

You can happyily come up with all your ludicrous trade ideas on GB or your board where we get a fair deal for your scraps, for a former no 1 draft pick.
In the meantime, as someone else here said....f@#k off 👍

So the sources for your feeling compelled to come over to our board and pontificate on things you actually know nothing about are AFLMedia, nebulous rumours, Geelong boards fever dreams and best of all Geography.

All very credible sauces and reasonings.

Your investigative skills are top notch. Good work Derp-Throat.

Be sure to let us know when you have other breaking news.

With JUH going at 1 we never had a strong trade hand that year for Dunkley. Why it is frustrating now with JUH we sold the farm for him
We could have on traded those picks for future picks or traded for established players or a combination of both.
It's always a good problem to have a few first round picks.

Copy that. I'll see my self out.

Fair enough. Ablett Senior was a bit too much trouble for Hawthorn to handle when faced with the bad influences of the big bad city. The move to Geelong really straightened up his behaviour for good.

There was, of course, just the small matter of the 20 year old girl overdosing and dying in his hotel room. But otherwise, what a raging success?

Cats supposedly being interested in JUH is like that famous case last year and the individual escaping the lions den and going back for their hat.

You're already being audited for your dodgy s*** so you supposedly reach out to another high price recruit.

Yeah, go right ahead, bring on a Carlton 2002 type reaming.

Of course not, to your first paragraph. I am not sure who suggested anything ridiculous like that?

Secondly, did your club not have three or four father-sons play in your flag? Most of Geelong's 07-11 side comprised of drafted talent, along with, yes, a couple of notable father-sons.

And finally, to everyone who missed my point of the post;

I was saying that I don't want JUH as he currently is (easy to pry away because of the off-field issues), and, should he fix those (which would largely quell the rumours of leaving) Geelong would have to pay a rightfully exorbitant sum in any deal.

I do not see a deal happening for the above mentioned reasons. I wasn't here to say, "hey, would you be happy with a late second-rounder and a bag of chips."

However, I digress...

Adios! Auf wiedersehen. Good bye. I don't want to cause any more upset.

Also jamarra isn't from Warnambool and to suggest that he is angers people. Just an FYI ( don't ask how I found out).

Is this being just super specific, or is he not from Framlingham, which is about 20km away?

"What has been discussed on our board is that Geelong had been in very close contact with JUH well before he was drafted, with dialogue having remained consistent since then"

Wouldn't that be some form of tampering? I mean being in someones ear the whole time they have been contracted at another club seems quite against AFL rules. I mean if thats true, and throw in the fact they were in Smiths ear for at least 18 months before they got him. Sounds like they deliberately get in other players heads and destabilize them at other clubs in order to force a trade. Seems dirty to me.
