Strategy Trade and List Management Thread Part 7 (opposition supporters - READ posting rules before posting)

From the outside looking in, the gather round timeline has well and truly gone and it’s now a second half of the season proposition at best.

He needs to be completing the full AFL senior program to be even considered for VFL selection which he clearly hasn’t done. That’s not even mentioning the non-attendance at AFL games to support his teammates.

These are obviously assumptions.
Exactly

Melbourne is a team that would spark interest in Marra
They have a decent amount of cap opening up soon
Is Marra interested in footy anywhere? Money doesn’t seem to be a motivator, going by the match payments he’s missing out on.

I think it is also disappointing that he wasn't at the ground with the team on what was such a huge night in the club's history. There's just got to be some buy in for a game like that. The optics aren't good.

Agree totally

Bare minimum he should have been there should not have been given an option IMO .

JUH should have been in the stands last night 110% to see Liber and Co bust themselves against the odds trying to get a win.

I think the optics show what really is the situation.

Not at all. A few days ago he put up a post on Instagram with a couple of photos down at training.

Arty Jones was the only current player to like or comment on it, but he’s basically the vibe guy of the group anyway.

The silence is deafening, unfortunately. Losing 2 young, high draft picks in 2 seasons with what will be absolutely inadequate compensation just sets us back further.

Was every other Bulldogs player who were not playing, in attendance? Not fair to single him out if half of the team were also sitting at home.

No half the team weee not sitting at home most if not all were there.
Some may have missed due to a VFL game today now.

I’m pretty sure JUH didn’t have much on today in terms of a game

Seriously read the tea leaves, he is not committed to football let alone what is required from a professional footballer. All injured players were there, as is normal, not sure those playing tonight.

He is more likely to not play at all this season unless there is a consistent change in application

About 10 dogs boys were in the row in front of me in the Olympic stand.
In saying that, can you imagine what he’d cop if he was there? The club could have easily said stay home pls.

He would not have copped anything.
He wasn’t there on a big night for the club speaks volumes

Point is, who cares no more? Half of the active Bulldogs threads are just spammed with stuff about JUH, and nothing new is being posted. It's just recycling the same stuff every day, "Oh he wasn't here today", "does he even want to play". Rinse and repeat. If he comes back, good on him, if he doesn't then it's his loss. Pretty sure Jamarra has his own thread if people want to obsess over what he does every single day. Rather focus on who IS there, and talk about the current team on the field.

Don’t think there’s much in this. Look at his posts even from last year

Yesterday wasn’t just another day

No, you're right. It was Groundhog Day.
The same boring tripe and speculation about JUH.

I agree it's not a great situation but it's incredibly tedious - and I'd argue unhelpful - to have it rehashed over and over.

I think you underestimate how vile and cruel some people can be, especially in a big crowd with emotions and piss flowing.

Back to the list stuff.

With Lachie Smith showing decent progress, do we still target a ruck in the MSD?

I'm not sure there are any state league prospects that move the needle for us.

Gardner's back playing defense for our VFL side and from what I could see in the event of catastrophe I'd have Buss well ahead of him.

Jacques might make a BP less of a desperate need although he's more an early career Ed Richards type based on his form last year.

Would prefer we target a forward Ruck not a ruck ruck

Sam Darcy is already the best in the competition at it. I didn't mind the Naughton experiment to get him into the game, or rotate Matt Kennedy there. We might find Jordan Croft taking some around the ground ruck relief minutes later in the year too.

Re the MSD ... if Muratore continues to find the goals that's a skill we could always use. We should keep an eye on him against better opposition than tonight. He seems he might be one of those players who might only get 10-12 possessions but just has a great goal sense. Not a bad mark either although he did spill an easy one on the wing.
