To be fair, if I was a midfielder, the change to play with Bont, Richards, Libba and Treloar would be very appealing.

Lot lt comments questioning why Peatling would move from the Giants, but I think our midfield would be one of the best to join for Peatling’s style

I would love butters, but gee i would love to spend 7,8,15 at the draft.

There must be a tipping point where the club does trade JUH but want that point is is unknown (well by me anyway)

IMO JUH is still young and he will explode at some point.

Tough one because club needs to determine what the ceiling looks like and the likelihood he sorts things out to get there.

Still say Naughton, Darcy and JUH can be unstoppable. Any 2 of them are manageable for opposition.

Pick 7+8 probably ends up 9+10.

Would need a future first thrown in (we may need to give a 2nd/3rd back).

This would be the minimum I’d expect for it to be considered. Needs to be a really really big deal.
In my mind JUH is clearly a top end talent and if the only consideration were the potential heights he might reach you would just keep him.

The only reason we should consider trading him are the rumours regarding the off-field side and the fact he has games where (as Rocket put it after the Elim final) he just looks disinterested.

If we’ve decided we don’t really want to keep him because of the above then two top ten picks in an apparently stacked draft is fine. If Saints were stupid enough to give us more then great but I wouldn’t quibble the bill.

The mistake we made with Stringer was not that we moved him on. It’s that we did it after it became apparent he was a trainwreck. If (and I don’t know if it’s the case) the off-field is becoming a major concern then now is the time to do it.

Stringer went in 2017?

No way we went early on him given his 2015 and 2016.

2016 finals series was not his best but some of the goals he kicked very few could have executed like he did including GF.

I’m speaking totally with the benefit of hindsight of course, and focusing only on the return for the player.

After 2016 the club knew he was trouble but had a premiership to defend and probably hoped he’d turn it around. I don’t really criticise them for that.

If he’d been put on the market then though I think we’d have had more suitors and done a lot better than a pair mid-20s picks.

Absolute zero in the Eagles games outside of the ridiculous 55m finish in junk time of the 4th quarter and a zero in the Prelim outside of the square up to Tory to ice it. Two of his goals against the Hawks and the one in the Granny were absolutely freakish.

I know he's great but this draft is stacked?

There's a reason I'm an alcoholic and not a list manager
I remember when they said 2012 was stacked. Super draft - amazing talent blah blah.

Have a look at the 2012 top 20.

Not saying this isn’t a good draft at face value - particularly picks 8-20 compared to the same picks in other years - just that it doesn’t always pan out.

He took a defender and a decent one at that and he occupied the minds of the opposition with his presence

The Goals you state were all at critical times

His season 2016 was important with 40 plus goals

I would change nothing in 2016 nothing were I sat, what I ate etc etc

Top 10 in 2012 has 6 very good players

Not going to comment on the integrity of information from sources or buy into the arguments on here but if JUH was traded, the club would need to be ready with a pretty solid explanation for members and fans that only stops at information that just cannot be disclosed. “There was a decision made that it would be best for all parties to explore a trade and a fresh start” may not cut it.

So speculation that Tim Kelly may swap clubs has made the media but something as significant as JUH being traded is dead quiet. Must be some pretty serious embargo arrangements between the club and media.

I agree

Another factor to think about is if those ITK know about his issues then I am sure all clubs would know also.

It is a fine line to play to say he is wanted but actions show the club is looking to offload especially when a player will be out of contract in 2 years time and at a good age with talent knowing that the club prefers him out as this takes away your bargaining position.

If it was 7, 8 and F1(what I think it would take), then the explanation would be the opportunity to rebalance the list with 3 top 10 picks.
