No disrespect to Macrae, who is a club legend, but I think Sanders takes his spot from Rd 1 and we don’t notice his absence.

Hopefully he gets there, currently Sanders has not shown anything to suggest he’s fit to tie Macca’s boot laces as yet. The knock on Macca is speed but Sanders wasn’t much quicker. He played half forward for 11 games this year, not his position sure but didn’t kick a single goal. People lament Macca’s dinky kicks but I legit have never seen a player handball backwards as much as Sanders.

Hopefully has a big pre-season and we see a different beast next year.

Kennedy is going to end up being a fan favourite.

He is a lot better than most are making out.
My boss is the biggest Carlton nuff you will meet and he says the same thing. He’s devo, reckons he’s his fave player

Imagine what we could of got last year. I guess the decision for him not to play mid was made last offseason. He's never been able to play another position. Don't know why that would change. Fair enough to give him a chance but could have been great for both if a trade happened then. Bev and Sam not aligned there.

When he had 4 years left on a contact and no intention to leave?

With the addition of Kennedy
I would like to see Treloar play more of an outside role next year

Free up his body and let his elite kicking be used more without pressure

Could kick 25+ goals next year

How stupid is this 2pm crap, let’s make the trade period a spectacle by having the last day start at 2pm and finish at 7.30pm. Everyone will forget we ran trade period for 10 days and nothing happened.

Surely if you want it as a spectacle run it for 48 hours.

Power: “hey Carlton list manager, let’s catch up for brunch. We won’t talk shop, just two guys at a cafe, maybe with some paperwork there just in case”

2.35pm: “we’ve mad a deal, definitely in the last 5 minutes”

A deal will get done for Smith today, Geelong can’t afford to damage their reputation as difficult and stubborn it would put off other clubs and importantly players who don’t want to see their former club not fairly compensated. Not all players are self centred like Smith.

Connors on the other hand has a duty of trying to help his client get to the club he wants to go to, and this means putting pressure on Geelong to get the deal done, not kick the Bulldogs. Sooner or later he will have a client that needs a club, and might find the Bulldogs don’t answer his calls.

Hopefully we get the plastics first up next year with half their side missing. Give us confidence going into the season. Chance to win a game first up.
Sticking with that avatar hey :p

Anyone shit canning Kennedy hasn’t watched a lot of Carlton play. He is very much best 22 for them and fills a much needed role for us, will easily cement a best 22 slot in our midfield if we are down Macrae and Caleb.

Mate he was already our (very) outside onballer. How much more outside can he be? Bont, Libba and Richards all carried the contested side of things with Treloar the second handball from congestion.

Kennedy is coming in to take the spot of Macrae and Daniel as a part time relief HFF/MID at half the price salary wise. He won’t touch Adzys mid minutes unless Adams legs spontaneously explode on field. Even then, Sanders naturally slots in if Adz calf/hammys become cooked beyond repair.

It’s purely a list management/cap management move and is quite clever if they can make it work. Pick 35-40 for Kennedy represents good value considering the salary implications.

35-40 on Kennedy wouodnt br great list management. It's a shrewd pickup if it happens but not for that much collateral

He is not the second coming of anyone, but at the right price he is the type of midfielder we miss, strong defensively around a contest and like a Bull. Just like most of the Hawks midfield.

He had to play out of the midfield at Carlton where they already have a player like that, the one who got 45 Brownlow votes, who is better at it.

He is not a replacement for Macrae, Daniel or a block for Sanders development. He is also not the same type of player as Harmes. He is a type of mid we don't currently have playing there but very much need.

IF he comes across at the right price it will be up to the coaching group to change up our mid rotations using his point of difference to strengthen this area of the ground.

Unfortunately unless the player manager landscape changes this will never happen. Hence why they hold the balance of power we need them more than they need us. Especially the big agencies like Connors Sports Management.
