No doubt there is a reason to get excited if ur a dees fan, especially when u add hogan as well. But, they've been a mess the last few years, seems like de ja vu with their off-season. Though as u mention, roos should make a huge difference.

We probably would have fvcked those picks up as well and still be where we are. ... No use stressing about it ToO...And they keep stockpiling top 5 picks each year by putting players up for trade who are either just good enough to be in their starting 22 or are good enough but ??? marks over recent injuries, like a Tyson.Bookmark this for next year,Patton will be put up for Trade.
While they continue to get top pics for trades thay can keep doing this for years to come unless other clubs have the balls to not trade with them at all for top picks.
What peevs me off about this,Is we were crap for 30 friggen years and these new franchises come into town and get a leg up like you wouldn't believe.How different would we have been 10ys ago if we got even a 1/3rd of the assistance(Draft pick wise)That GWS have got.
Oh one thing I am fairly certain on, when good ole Dom contract is nearly done with the dees we will dead set be in his ear

In all honesty i'm not sure where i fall on this trade I can't find a downside yet it seems like a bad trade for the Dees, maybe its because i wanted Tyson at the Tigers. It just reeks of desperation a bit from Melbourne and Dom who wants to be back in Melbourne.
I think Melbourne are about to have a richmond false dawn, Roo's wants out after two years. Nobody really wants to go there, Adams, Shuey, Rockcliff, Shaw, Thomas and whoever else they really targeted. They can't find somebody to move into a senior assistant role with the opportunity to be head coach in 2 seasons, there are only 18 jobs for this in the country and how nobody is jumping up and down demanding it tells a huge tale. It will change at the end of the year as they'll have a better season with Vince and Michie (who i rate) but still leaves them having another guy at the end of Roo's contract who is probably not ready and had only a season under Roo's.
Not sure it would look good for the young man to be at his 3rd club by the age of 22.
Besides,not sure if the Dees would accept pick 17.

If a club you've been extremely loyal to, and turned down huge offers from other clubs to stay there, came up to you and said oh hey what are your thoughts on being traded for GWS for pick 1 and 2? Would you be happy with staying? Knowing they want to get rid of you?

More than worth pick one (dual coleman winner), for an untried No1 Forward. For me he'd be pick 1 + other picks easily. But it's all hypothetical. He's a spark in the squad, so I'm not sure we'd look at it really...

Nope, didn't say that at all. And opt out of what?? His contract?? He doesn't need to opt out of his contract to be traded.
I said he would opt out because he would feel like he isn't wanted.
This was all a hypothetical. I wouldn't trade Jack for picks 1 + 2. I'm just saying that him not wanting to go isn't really an issue if we want to make the trade.
He needs to opt out of the club to be traded this year is what I mean, him not wanting to go is an issue because pushing him out the door is a terrible look for the rest of the group
Am I the only one who thinks dal santo has been severely overrated this offseason? The media have been talking him up as the saviour for north, however most of his games this year were borderline pathetic. Has lost his zip and his skills have definitely dropped a level or 2, age starting to really catch up with him. Still a solid get for nothing, but talk of him being the difference for top 4 is laughable.
