AN AFL umpire has been rubbed out for the first round of next season after he dressed as Osama Bin Laden to an end-of-season function.

Umpire Leigh Haussen, who has officiated in 147 AFL games since 2017, dressed as Bin Laden to a umpires' post-season event, which was held in a private room at a Melbourne restaurant.

The theme of the function, held the day after the Grand Final, was 'characters from the 2000s'.

The AFL said Haussen changed into his costume at the venue and "wore a mask for only a short period of time before removing it".

Losing your best young tall forward in Josh Tracey kicking 45 goals in 20 games, Your best ruckman in Sean Darcy and Team captain and tall defender in Alex Pearce through injury played a small part.

Mate if Bolton really hits his straps he’s a 30-40 goal kicking mid. You got him cheap the guy is off the charts talent wise. Will be a premiership decider if the organisation can get it right

My only observation was it didn’t take much to finish top five this year.

Broad was fourth and was average up until about round 15; Baker mediocre after round 12 and fifth.

I'm not sure where the Lalor@1 talk originated from - wherever it was it has grown legs on this board to the extent where it appears to have become gospel. If there is another club who we suspect doesn't have the same designs on Lalor as we allegedly do, then we could do a lot worse than bring them into the #1 negotiations, and potentially extract two other top 10 picks and use a portion of this to still access Lalor at #2.

Darcy is a liability, you guys wanted to get rid of him FFS, so you lost 2 good players, and really, shouldnt have been in that position, it was 4 weeks out of a very long season. Bolton plays for Freo in 2024 and you guys do damage in Sept, that is the reality.
