Yeah agreed. Seems like someone we would pick up in the 20sCan this Tahana kid actually kick a football? Even his best kicks looked unconvincing from the vision I've seen.
Well looking at several phantom drafts there are still half decent kids to pick up. Some suggestions made for us are strange but its that type of draft.
With our two picks two of Clarke, Rioli, Cole and Partington will likely still be available. Pick a mature age player with our last or a young project ruck and all is good with Redden and Jetta on board. Not many have Rioli in the top 35 so he's either still available around both our first two picks or someone else has will slide.
One of the better tall defenders may be available at our first as IMO clubs rate quality mids, tall forwards and even medium forwards ahead of key backmen. Also the shorter mids with class also fall down the order because of the recent focus on bigger mids who can take a mark and rest forward.
Two of Clarke, Rioli or Cole would be a fantastic draft.
if Wce don`t get Rioli would like Blake Hardwick as a small fwd for a Leccra replacement ,also think we should take Markov 190 cm 85 kg he`s a awkward player to match up on has great agility and a massive tank ,
Daniel Rioli – North Ballarat Rebels (Half Forward/Half Back 175cm/76kgs)
So you want to know if he’s related to Cyril? Yes! Cyril is Daniel’s uncle, and their game styles are very very similar. The kid is very raw, loves to take the game on and loves kicking goals – more suited playing half forward, but can play in all three zones of the ground like he did in the U18 championships.
A genuinely smart footballer who can turn a game on its head. Tested fantastically at the combine with a 2.89secs 20m sprint and a 24.15secs repeat sprints being the second and first fastest respectively.
Oleg Markov – South Australia (Forward/Key Forward 190cm/85kgs)
Oleg Markov was born in Belarus and is the son of a world champion pole vaulter. He is a beautiful athlete and missed out on being drafted last year but I think that this year he will be picked up by a club. Came seventh in the agility run which is extraordinary for someone that is 190cm.
Also kicked a perfect 30 in the goal kicking test – only one of four to do so and also ran a massive 14.8 in the beep test. An athletic beast.
Hope he comes with his pole.If markov is still on the table i really, really hope we take him with our third rounder.

Too soon, man. Too soon.37. Port Adelaide –Kieran Lovell
Club: Kingston Tigers
Position: Midfielder/small forward
Height: 174 cm
Weight: 80 kg
Player comparison: Touk Miller
Lovell is a real hard nut and one of the best inside extractors in this year’s draft crop. At his height, most players wouldn’t be considered as they’d struggle to win their own ball in the middle, but clubs should be confident that he can do it at the highest level. Lovell has terrific endurance, but his speed and agility is also excellent. Lovell’s also got a good leap which helps at his height. He’ll probably play a fair bit as a small forward at the next level, which suits his game. He’s an excellent tackler, which bodes well in terms of forward pressure. He’s a very smart user of the football, and especially when going inside 50, he makes the right decision in terms of finding a teammate: however, he can also finish it off himself.
Fair wrap on the kid. I'm sold.
Poll Vote on drafting Markov ?
Yeah agreed. Seems like someone we would pick up in the 20s
Nor was our club.Nice joke the draft wasn't even around in the 20s
Nor was our club.
27: Partington/Clarke/Rioli27: Ah Chee
35: Menegola
53: Crocker
Current dream draft scenario.
(Or whatever number our picks actually become)
Was McGinnity a mature age vfl player who won mvp awards? So you're saying we should pick up more McGinnity's?
I'd be happy with this. Seems like a lot of interest in Clarke recently so we'll probably end up with Partington or Cole. Prefer Skinner+Tahana more than Redman+Parsons personally.27: Partington/Clarke/Rioli
35: Skinner/Redman
53: Tahana/Parsons
If I had to have a dream result, it would be Partington, Skinner and Tahana.I'd be happy with this. Seems like a lot of interest in Clarke recently so we'll probably end up with Partington or Cole. Prefer Skinner+Tahana more than Redman+Parsons personally.
dajesmac I like how much Menegola has improved but after attempts at two clubs he might not even get drafted (I wouldn't take him with one of our 3 picks personally). Doubt Freo is going to take him again, and not sure any other teams are looking. Would you break the 38-6 profile and pick a 4th to take him or try and grab him as a rookie?
PS. Definitely dreamin' getting Ah Chee with our first
