OP is notoriously hard to recover from. I think avoiding surgery was the smart move but they haven’t rested him for long enough.

Someone posted the details of the surgery on the bombers board and it’s ****ing horrific. Sometimes posters on here are so blasé about sending players in for a surgery so they might be back a month earlier if everything goes perfectly. The cost on the player can be enormous and once done it can have plenty of repercussions.

Can’t understand why Melbourne didn’t look at him either. Far better player than Tomlinson, just a little soft. I’d rate him better than Langdon as well. Would of cost a little coin and would of gone to them for less than he went to GCS.

Saints and Dogs clear winners.
Cats did OK as well.
WCE got Kelly so clearly did well.
Hawks did well for what they gave up.
For us punters, Dildoro and SOS provided the entertainment.

You have to be kidding on the saints. They got absolutely reamed in the Hill trade. Personally id rather hang onto Acres than pay a weak panic merchant like Hill 900k a yr

I sometimes wonder if people actually watch oppo players.We are talking about a Brandon Ellis type who is great out by himself but shits himself just like Ellis when under pressure. Add in the fact he is the most overrated player i have seen kicking wise an area he should be in the top 5% in the league in and the fact he is heavily reliant on those around him to impact a game and all i can say is the stk footy dept are in ga ga land.

Butler is in the top 25 of the reigning premiers, is a premiership player and struggles to cement a place in arguably the best forward line in the league.

The Blues forward line is atrocious. Butler would be an upgrade on any Blues forward besides Curnow and McKay...

I'm glad for eddie betts as he will still be head banana of the small forwards, but WTF....butts, martin, papps, bonar and brandon ellis walk into that team and make the blues a 6 goals better outfit, but landed none, this would make one of those great hitler meme viral sensations ....carlton you have done it again you fools.

Why trade so much? For a small return.

In this draft there isn’t a major difference between 9 and 19. Tbh would rather trade back and gain more picks within the Top 30

Carlton's recruitment of Papley was based on assuming Essendon would kowtow to Sydney. They chose not to do so.
Franklin's contract is damaging, $1.4 million next year, $1.5 million in 2021, $1 million in 2022.

I agree that Freo's 22 is the pick to now upgrade for.
They have 7 & 10, then expect a bid will come for Liam Henry ~ 15, they will match using 22, then have 58, 69
They should be open to trading 22 for extra points.

Adelaide & Brisbane will be our competition as they have a similar batch of trad-able picks to us:
Adelaide 4, 23, then 28, 37, 45, 49
Brisbane 16, 21 then 34, 48, 52, 55
Tigers 19 then 38, 39, 41, 56

If we plan on only using 3 picks, then we could offer 38 + 41 + 56 = 1071 pts for 22 = 845 points. Win-win.
But Adelaide or Brisbane could offer similar or better and still have 4 decent picks.

If we plan on using 4 picks, then forget it. Maybe trade 56 for a future 3rd to Collingwood, West Coast, Eagles or Saints for who it would be in their top 3 picks.
Again Brisbane & Adelaide may have the same idea - although Adelaide probably need to use all 6 of their picks after the players they've lost

Freo are into Menadue. Wonder if we wink wink delist him so they can get him free as a DFA in return for letting us upgrade to 22. It's only tampering if it's the actual draft isn't it? Lol
