Parker and Cunnington are worth a go I wouldn’t go for Higgins myself will be lucky to play a handful of games over the next few seasons given his previous injury history
Will be a similar outcome to what the pies got with wells
Our history has been pretty good with injury management.(yeah I know this year sucks),Think we'd get the most out of Higgins as he wouldn't be as much pressure to perform at 100% like he is now.

I would love Sier too but it looks like he's about to break his way back into the team as his VFL form is picking up and Wells is cooked again.

I just don't see Collingwood losing him.... but stranger things have happened.
Heard on the weekend Sier omission is based on his lack of a defensive game.

If T71 says we are after a ready to go star then we will have to offload some senior players to make room,

Let Astbury go as a FA - possible compo - pick in or around the 20's - save maybe $300K a year
Bellis goes as a FA - possible compo, pick in or around the 20's - another $200K a year
Butler Traded - pick in the 30's - save maybe $150K a year
Grigg Gone - saves maybe $300K a year
Houli plays on a reduced contract - maybe save $150K a year

Players like Towner, Markov and Menadue would make bugger all space so do we see a popular player traded out? Otherwise the players we target will have to be kids
Bellis and astbury would not be on 200 , closer to 350-400
I still don’t believe we d have the capacity to bring in 700 player
We need to re sign 4 senior players currently on < 100
Balta
Bolton
Baker

After I posted I realised I wasnt clear. The saving I put up was based on what their replacements would be paid v their actual wages. ie. Astbury on $400K, Garth on $200K etc.

also rumors that his attitude isnt great??
Have heard similar things, especially about the attitude - maybe he got ahead of himself?

All I know is, our club won't go near anyone who isn't a "Richmond Man" - and I love the fact that no-one (not even us) knows what that means exactly. I'll back in the recruiters on whoever the bring in or pass on.

Just my opinion and I know not many would agree but I think someone who would come cheapish, money and pick wise, would be Petracca. Has stagnated at Melbourne. A new environment and dropping 5 to 8kg, I think he could be another caddy/dusty type player. I think our club could get the best out of him and could be another midfield beast that kicks goals.

Don't need to pick up a state league player to play in the ummm state league, would need to learn the gameplan and even then would not be given a game anyway before being tossed out on his arse at seasons end. Bloody oath we pass.

Will be abolished after this year when they see how stupid it is. Only the bottom dwellers will participate in this mid season draft.

According to the AFL we're red-hot on Dunkley and Pickett and if they're gone then Northern Blues midfielder Frank Anderson could be the one.

if there is the option of signing the player for next season -

surely they take the highest ranked guy in the 19 year old age range?

I think this is a great chance for us to target a youngster that we have our eye on in the ND but wont have to use a ND pick for him.

long term pickup.

Aren't the rules that the player must have already nominated for a draft or been on an AFL list, don't think you can pluck a kid who might be a chance for this years draft.
