Yep the Neale trade really helps us.Pies playing it well.
They know Lions Fagan has flown to Perth to calm Neale down.
They also know they need a pick to get Adams done and enough points for McFayden.
In all this the Lions are quickly moving to a position of the 'most desperate' and hence they will 'blink' first.
That tells Fremantle will 'hold' on the demand of 2 x first rounders and hence Lions need ours. They will blink and accept the future 2nd rounder.
Won’t happen. I don’t think we go from an offer of pick 18 + future second yesterday, to now offering up 2 best 22 players and getting pick 2 involved. It's all piecing itself together... (disclaimer: post may be somewhat fictional and/or guesswork)
Apparently earlier this year, Brisbane went hard for Josh Thomas when he started putting together a few good games in a row. Part of the appeal was that he was an Unrestricted Free Agent at the time, as well as a Queenslander who loves to get home.
Make no mistake, when we signed him, we knew Beams wanted to come and we knew that Brisbane wanted Thomas. We basically put it to Thomas that we wanted to sign him for three years as it's longer than the remaining contract attached to Beams. Now we're putting it to Thomas that we'll either trade him home as part of an equitable trade, or we would happily keep him. Either way, he will see out his contract with either us or Brisbane for three years, no less, which is great for him individually after what he has been through.
The best part about this trade is that we're essentially replacing Thomas with Beams. Both are similar age (people forget how long Thomas has been around) and can both play forward and midfield. Beams is just as capable of kicking 35-40 goals as what Thomas is, and is more damaging in the middle.
As for Phillips, he's a good young player, but he's replaceable. In this scenario, we will look to push Sidebottom onto a wing as well as Stephenson.
So here you have it, folks. As posted by Magpie Monopoly on Page 535, dated 15/10/2018

What about this;
Collingwood
Give - # 18 + '19 First rounder
Get Beams + #30
Lions
Give - # 5 & 18
Get - Neale
Fremantle
Give - Neale + 30
Get - 5 & 18
This whole Hogan thing has a bad smell to it so Freo are right in excercising caution. Despite protests from Dees supporters on how good Hogan is and posturing from the Dees - they seem way to keen to offload Hogan.Peter Bell doesn't look so silly now, thats a steal if they pull this off. Or are his injuries an ongoing concern "hence wanting an 8 year contract"

Hogan smells like Mitch Clark 2.0
I gave your post a like, not because I necessarily agree it will happen.
Couldn't resist this comedy gold though...
