The big issue I see with Cox vs Grundy (aside from the obvious) is durability. Grundy has been super durable and I think we'd have a lot more instability in the ruck area if Cox was #1

In fairness, Cox’s injuries have come from a dude stepping on his leg, and getting poked in the eye. Both freak accident injuries. It’s not as if he has soft tissue issues.

Having said that, he was probably worth a pick in the 20s, whereas we got 44. Thats all we missed out on, Tigers just missed out on the same on an AFL whim.

With Elliott looking like staying I wonder what our plans are in relation to trying to strengthen our 2019 draft hand? If at all.

Without an Elliott compo pick we are going to have to get creative to improve our 2019 draft hand (as it had been rumoured).

I still like the idea of trading our 2020 first for a 2019 first. Then try and get back into the 2nd and 3rd rounds during next trade period to get our required McInnes points.

Crisp wasn’t that bad at Brisbane. Probably unfair we even refer to him as ‘steak knives’ as Lion fans will tell you he was showing a lot of ability.

The Lions didn’t rate him much, thought his kicking wasn’t up to AFL standard so weren’t too concerned with him being part of the Beams deal

Yep 2 top ten picks which is bloody rare for us & our guys botched it. Admittedly they don’t get high picks wrong too often but history wont reflect well on that draft.

No, Patton is a salary dump. He’d have some actual value if he wasn’t costing the Hawks $750k in his first year.

Amazing that Hawks will end up with two former #1 picks from GWS both above pick 50 just because of one seasons high salary.

GWS would still want a 1st rd pick from us even though it’s a salary dump
