If some of the 2021ish players come on then I'm sure our trade/draft strategy will shift a bit.

Right now we are trying ot build an amazing midfield, a solid spine and get in some X factor. The rest of he team is just waiing til we have the core in place.

So if some of those guys with 3ish years experience step up then our situation could change substantially. I'll wait.

Seems fair. Though if we get butters then the value of our 26&27 picks go down. They’d have to factor that giving us Reid as well would see us go up the ladder.

Have had a few eagles supporters comment on our video suggesting Reid, and they all agree that we would be best placed to execute a trade.

A few also mentioned that they are hunting Warner from swans so if they can land him plus some picks for Reid they still walk away relatively happy

There is no Butters noise. I made mentioned that he’s the type of midfielder we need and it just blossomed. We have no connection to Butters that I’m aware of.

They won't take a single top 5 pick for him. They'll want more back.

One top 5 pick is better than two mid teen picks which is what most trades end up being or they can hope for a compensation pick after their pick. Again a mid teen pick.

The picks we got for Shai are not top 5. Plus we are talking about if butters was wanting out. A situation where we could possibly trade pick 1 (Dyson Sharp). Plus Butters would be coming out of contract the following year. Free agent. Shai was long term contracted. It’s just talk. I’m not aware of any approach for Butters.

We are not getting Butters and we are not getting Reid…It will blow up the club (which is nowhere near the window)…We haven’t even seen what our 2024 crop can do…A few of them will take more than a year, keep building from the draft…Then we’ll have money in the bank to keep them all, or trade for value…We’ll also have change to cherry pick a key forward, mobile Ruck etc. Just enjoy 2025 for now, no expectations…
