If we trade out all three names looking back at draft strike rates, we will absolutely rebuild in 2-3 years into an elite contender. We still have enough experienced players to do this. Ship em off and sell your stocks while they are high.
We also have to make up for that future first we gave up for Hopper. We could have had Curtin or Caddy. It's quite the miss hit, so this year's trade outs have to compensate for that bad decision.

you do realize with out Hopper in the midfield, we would be in even more trouble then our midfield is already in.
once his injury cloud lifts, we have a solid big body mid, something we desperately require

Him and Taranto will protect our next wave of stars too. Otherwise we will break our new toys

Your last line highlights the issue some have with Shai.

The truly elite don't need conditions to be right, they're at that level week after week
Dimma made the conditions right for Dusty and that worked out ok RT

'best player in the comp if the conditions are right'
come on...
your reaching with that statement!

Really. Where have you been ?

Early in the season last year he was open being talked about as possibly the best player in the comp. You only have to look at him to see that at his best he can do all of those things I mentioned.

So you'd be happy to force out potentially the best player in the comp at 25 for a couple of untried 18 yo kids that might never be as good ?

Noted.

Dusty was already a star though and performed at a consistent level. Shai doesn't

Clarko playing 187cm Jackson Archer on Jack Lukosius and has one mark for the game at half time. So far from being a key forward it's not funny.

And who's going too protect the young mids in mealtime?

if you honestly believe he is the possibly the best player in the league, that's good for you.
I like to live in reality.
and would happily trade him for the appropriate draft compensation.

Always an element of risk doing this half way through a game but not today. 1 disposal and mark on the back 50 for the second half. Should offer GC Rioli for pick 7/8/20 and we take on Lukosius contract.

In the 2022 final Graham was missing & Prestia got injured and Dusty had just come back from injury... 2022 we were a high scoring team. Great debut from Sonsie..

Adding Hopper AND Tarranto just pushed Prestia and Cotchin forward, while Graham while regained his spot. Chuck in Mansell for Castagna and out of shape MRJ plus ageing Jack R, not enough of Lynch.

Bring in n/one of the GWS boys end of 2023, when Cotch retired maybe... and/ or draft a BBM . Stop drafting RCD, Dow body types, stop playing Ross on the wing

Not taking JVR....he would've played 50 games at Punt Road by now.
I agree with this. With hoppers injury history it was a long shot and he won't get on the park enough to protect anyone. It just made cotchins last yesr difficult with us trying to find a spot for him, and this year I don't mind the younger mids getting a go. Dow is 5th year, sonsie 3rd, Graham 8th?, Ross must be 5th. Hopper definitely wasn't needed, maybe as a free agent you could make an argument but for 2 picks no.
