campaigners cooked , younger players have Taranto, Hopper and Baker if he stays
He should retire with Grimes
Baker hopefully won't be in richmond colours and taranto and hopp's still need plenty of help in the midfield with experience
and at his reduced price it won't hurt us.

Huge NO NO NO to that idea.. if Jack R is the model.

Jack R was borderline a waste in that last year but had to play cos KPF No1 couldn't get on the park. And because we never draft KPFs.

Prestia might be a good coach. Retire and be a coach. Baker is borderline captain if he doesn't leave. Graham won't leave, nor Pickett. Chuck in Hopper and Tarranto. Ample leadership

Prestia can still play OK footy, too injury prone. Only thing he can show anyone is the way to rehab

If he thinks he's got another year in him. Trade him and good luck.

RFC list demograpics are still too old. 2 years of retirements is required.

Here is the thing with Prestia (Lynch is still contracted so doesnt really matter yet). If we decide that we are in the rebuilding phase then having coaches like Prestia on the field/list is better for us in the long run. Why? Two major reasons that have one thing in common. Money.

1. Soft Cap restrictions - With the soft cap being so small and the tax so large, keeping a player coach on the list makes financial sense. The thing is that you need to decide if there is a better option for the list spot. If we have accessed the AFL, the second comps and the junior comps and decided that there is no players that are worth more than having Prestia on list as a playing coach then is just makes fiscal sense to keep him there.

2. TPP Minimum Payments - Until there is cap trading, management of the salary cap is important. We have to pay approx 95% of the TPP. If we can do that by keeping older players as coaches on the list it has the benefit of not blowing up the salary cap. How? Well look to St Kilda from 2013 to now. They have had to over pay for spuds they have drafted like Dunstan. Why? Well they have to pay the minimum in TPP and they had no one else that demanded a good salary. This then has the knock on effect of your stars asking for more as they are aware of their value. For example imagine if Bolton was out of contract at the end of 2022 and saw that we were paying Graham, McIntosh, Pickett about $750k a year (because we just have to spend the money). Bolton would be able to see his value and know his talent and say "Well if they are worth 750k I am at least 1.3m based on your valuations".

In conclusion, unless we see that there is a clear option that is currently better than Prestia having 1 more year as a player coach (if we wants that role) then we would be derelict in our duty to not do it.

pick 1 and baker for harley reid and 20

reid is leaving west coast
Nah, would still want something more than 20 back. Sure Reid is a generational talent but as soon as he gets off the plane Louie in a bear suit would just attack him and snap both his ACLs and give him dodgy shoulders.

Your on ridiculous mission to get rid of Prestia imo.

If Yze needs him and Lynch, then they stay.
Answer my questions & allay my COST/BENEFIT fears

As a 31 y.o. the first 5 day break destroyed him. Disappeared for 2 months. Partially derailed the clubs season. Plays 3 injured in his 4th. Gotta manage him for interstate trips this year.

How much better will an injury prone footballer be turning 32?

What's our List management strategy going to be?

look at 18th on the ladder and gut the place.. trade & delist everyone possible this year.

Look at the games we won... how did we achieve that? Good gameplan. Fit team.

One problem we have is length of the injury list. We can't even bank on the ACLs to be available for half of next season

Grey in the club 2 minutes ~Nekminit 8 week hammy.

The time is takes for players to find form after long injury. If at all Like Lynch & Dusty.

Does the club just hope and pray for better injury luck? Its all shifting deckchairs on the Titanic if we can't keep our players on the park for a 3rd year. FMD first change has to be Meehan. Then an Asst coach or 2.

3, 4 retirements. 3, 4 delisted, and RFC always does a trade or 2. For the next 2 seasons is 20 players turned over anyhow.
Fair bit of wishful thinking in that I’m confident we’ve seen the best of lynch and dusty so move on , it’s abundantly clear we need to arm the squad with as much top end talent as we can 4 r1 pics would be a good start this year perhaps some trades in of < 23s
Not fussed losing 2 qty players in baker and one more as they’re not exactly helping us much as it stands

If our performances were more like Coll going toe to toe with oppo and just failing I’d feel differently, we’re getting pumped like an old fashioned entrenched wooden spooner , calls for drastic action

Good points.. so no necessity to hasten any senior player's exit from the club.

We should be doing everything to try & get Harley Reid now.

While West Coast going through a bit, not a fan of us giving away pick #1 but if it's for Reid 100% let's do it & throw in Baker, If Baker is going there ofc.
