Yeah, and we've been shit. Missed top 8 last year and scraped into the 8 with awful % this year before crashing out week 1 (again). If we head into 2020 with McKernan and Brown/Hooker as our best tall forwards, we are in all sorts.

Ok, let's look at 2 players.

Player 1 goals over the last 5 years
36, 4 (from 3 games), 36, 38, 50

Player 2 goals over the last 5 years
22 (from 11 games), 46, 45, 62, 46

Which one is worth more than the other?
Well, player 1 is Josh Bruce, the guy you want a pick 10 for and who will cost 500k+ salary

Player 2? That's Josh Jenkins who is available for pick 50+ and will have part of his wage subsidised by Adelaide to take him.

So you can take Josh Bruce and go home, because if we are looking for a 2-3 year stop gap, we can obtain a cheaper - and historically better - option somewhere else.

Mmm okay supporters do know there team best...from the outside I didn’t think you guys were that far off.

Big deficiencies in the midfield, poor clearance numbers, too many turnovers off skill errors, lack of cohesive team defense so those turnovers are almost always goals to the opposition. Poor delivery inside 50 as well. Bruce is a good player for sure but we need to address our other issues before we pay up for a 27 year old key forward.

Imagine a forward line of Cameron, Hooker, Stringer, McKernan & Tippa?

If we can somehow pry Papley out of Sydney under Carlton's feet as a replacement for Raz and use pick 5 (and a 1st Rounder from the Raz trade) to snare Cameron then Dodo will be immortalised forever.

Yeah we’ll be thereabouts but probably a rung below the top teams for a little bit longer. Put it this way, Josh Bruce isn’t going to make the difference.

If we had pick 5 + 10 I’d hope we take it to the draft and get in some young talent, we haven’t had a first round pick since Andy McGrath.

Nah our list is average. Nowhere near premiership quality especially without daniher.
