If Lake comes at the right price I would not be adverse him to joining the hawks (2nd round Draft Pick + WB pick up some of his salary for next season). Some say he is has an attitude problem - but if he wants to win premierships then he'll straighten up one would think.
I'm on the bandwagon with the Rough nut to FB and Shoey to FF. Buddy can have free reign at CHF to do what he does.. I would like to see this experiment during the NAB cup or something along those lines to see how it goes in match conditions. For it to work though, Rough needs to train during the pre-season with the backs and learn off the likes of Gibbo , Goo and Gilham. Size isn't the only factor - need to have the smarts and positioning to play there also.

Would love Zac Clarke. A big fan and would much rather get him than Lake. Here is why

. Would allow Roughy to play in the backline with Clarke and Hale rotating between Ruck and Forward line
. Can take a mark
.Would not have to break the bank
. Isn't getting much of an opportunity with Sandi and Griffin at Freo
. A local boy. Went to Koonung Secondary College

With players like Buddy, Rough, Hodge and Mitch accepting unders for years I don't like the fact that the club could then splurge cash on a player like Tippett. What would Buddy think if Tippett came in on more money than him, and is Tippett worth more than Buddy? HELL NO!
I would prefer the club went for players similar to Gunston that are young and have potential to improve whilst providing a role for the team. If a 28+ year old player wants to come to hawthorn because of a chance at success they need to accept less money than they may get at their current or other club.

Seems odd that two top 4 teams are the ones who can offer the most. Feels like a media beatup to me.
Don't know why we aren't going after tom gillies again, looks like he has potential although i understand he will probs get a go now that scarletts retired. But in terms of going after defenders, mitch brown looks like the pick of the bunch

Half a dozen other potential free agent moves to be sorted before then - that's almost as many players as normally change clubs overall.
Which is why I thought someone like Bate would be a more sensible target. I'm just hoping a rumour circulates somewhere, then we are OK to discuss it here
I'd expect him to be #1 for Brisbane & GC, sure, but I'm not sure either were going to be big players (other than Caddy)?
Doesn't seem like Pies were waiting on Tippett.
