We don't need a Hack Like Him Around

He may only be 19, but he better grow some b*lls real quick because he fast becoming softer by the week in my book. I want to see him take contested marks without taking his eyes off the ball!

I saw him s**t himself last week agaisnt Nth when he could have easily taken a chest mark on his own.

He has heaps of potential, but he better get some mongrel in his game real quick, otherwise he will carry it through his career and become a bigger version of Lonie.

Could put him in the deal to the weagles to get judd

Common thats a bit tough on T Cloke. I mean I was pretty unhappy with his performance but at the end of the day despite the time he's played in AFL so far this in my opinion is really his first genuine year. All the other years were injury and what not.
This is his first genuine uninterrupted (so far) year.
He needs to mark better and do a lot of things better but this will come in time. Besides upon reflection if we all are honest there are just some teams or some individuals that people just play CR#P around.

Maybe West Coast is T Cloke's achilles heel. Just like Leon Davis appears to be Wirrapanda's achilles heel.
Either way the larger question is why do Collingwood seem to play so well against West Coast but not as well against everybody else?
Seriously if we could play all teams the way we played West Coast we'd be top 4 easy.

All up its sad we lost but overall a TOP GAME to watch and I think Collingwood can hold their heads high and say f.u to all the doubters.
Medders though....mmmm bad game for him but hey everybody has bad games and teams they play badly against.

Seriously wouldn't trade him, but l agree he needs to show more intent, he has been given the opportunity now with Tarrant gone, he needs to play with some aggression, and needs to take contested marks. As a key forward you should also be able to kick goals from 35 metres out.
I am sure the coaching staff would be disappointed with his first 2 weeks, hasn't really given us anything up forward, maybe a run with Williamstown may wake him up. Would look at Cox for Cloke against Richmond.

What a Shocking Kick

He wasn't helped by our supply and shoddy disposal tonight.

Funny that he is stepping into the Tarrant role and copping the same criticism.

IMHO the lead up forward never gets the recognition they deserve.

If anyone saw Richmond today, Richo had to do a mountain of work because he was the only tall option, similar with Fev.

As long as Cloke keeps presenting and contesting, we should cut him a bit of slack

14 possesions (all kicks) and 8 marks is nothing to sneeze at. If he could only finish off with effective kicks then he would be twice the footballer he already is. You may think Cloke was bad, but wihout him we would of lost by a good 5 goals.

Doesn't run anyway near as hard as Tarrant, and he needs to lead up and present instead of waiting back in the/near the goal square hoping for the long kick, that's just lazy.At this stage he aint anywhere near what Tarrant was doing.

I have to disagree. Cloke got 14 kicks and 8 marks and none of them were from being lazy and parking himself in the forward line. He may not lead or work hard up the ground as Tarrant (then again noone really does) but he doesn't have the body yet able to do that again and again.

Time is on his side. But he was pretty week at the contest last night. He still has a lot to learn. As has been said, he is 19.

I agree he is only young, and he is a real talent, but sometimes l feel he just dosen't work hard enough with his leading and hardness at the footy. This season Clokey needs to really be a focal point for us, and he can certainly do it, he just needs that work rate to lift.
I think if he can lift that intensity there is no reason he can't kick 2/3 goals a game.

Against the Kangaroos his intensity was great. He needs to maintain it and not be let down just because it's not his night. Look at last week, Rocca was beaten the majority of the time and the ball hardly came down to him but he still contested brilliantly and IMO was a good player for us just because of that.
