IMO, Martin is an inferior player to Judd. Significantly so at the same points of their careers IMO.

Yeah, but you know what I mean. Kids like Martin dOnt grow on trees. Merrett is a good defender (some years), but he's like 27 and could over time be replaced. I know this whole conversation is just hypothetical btw, just for conversation sakes

I actually agree with you here on Merret as long as he keeps his body fit next year he could be used as tradebait in next years draft pick. Especially for those teams in top eight or just out who need a big bodied full back. Would love another first round draft pick next year!
