The Crows can't keep their talent and we can't wait to catapult our talent. Is it just me or is it getting crazier out there?

“He never thought about it (leaving Port Adelaide), to be honest,” Trotter told AFL Trade Radio.
“He signed a four-year deal at the end of 2018.
“He captained the club at one stage this year.

“It was all pretty much a surprise to Dougs.

What a bunch of Nuffies the people running this club are.

So let me get this straight, Dougal.

Port misses finals for the second year in a row.

You started the year out of the team because the new defensive coach didn’t rate you.

You come into the team and have two poor games that directly sabotage the team playing finals this year. Not just bad - liability style games.

The coach backs you in and you repay his faith with two pretty good games where you play your role by pushing up the ground.

But for the next few games, you revert back to type - to the point where the coaching staff believes that, in a game where we were already down a defender in Burton, we would be better off with you out of defence and in the forward line.

You get moved into the forward line permanently and start to show promise, playing well for three games. Then once again, you stagnate.

You finished the year out of the team.

And you’re surprised you were told to have a look around?

Cool story, so then why isn't Motlop being asked to look around.

Huh? He played shit up forward?

He was good against St Kilda, Geelong and Adelaide...and then nothing. Not a wimper.

Imagine having such a strong list that a player of Howard's skillset gets squeezed out. Now wake up.
Get your point but let's not get carried away with Howard's skillset. Does everyone not recall that after a full pre-season, he couldn't make the team in Rd. 1 and only came in after Watts got injured? And then couldn't really cement his spot anyway?

And as for him being a captain of the club - that was more a case of last man standing (which is another story entirely).

As a few on here (who haven't gone off on an emotional tangent) have mentioned, let's see where the cards fall before we burn the club down.

As a case in point, I reckon the Wingard trade has been a win for us - Burton and Duursma (who's a potential future captain).... but when the news first broke about the trade, it was all doom and gloom.

I'm more than happy to give the club the benefit of the doubt and see how this unfolds. It's finally got me interested in this trade period - up until now it's all been meh.

You're really clutching at straws here.Dixon is averaging less goals per games here than he was in his last few years at the suns and you wnat to talk about Doogs stagnating up forward ? Dixon has literally stagnated after leaving a basket case and coming to a club that has being one of the best I50 sides the entire time he has been here.

Perhaps the problem are not with personnel but maybe they sit with the muppet who calls himself senior coach.

Is this "deliberately sabotaging the team playing finals" like when Houston deliberately hand-balled to a teammates feat to get them dropped ? (even though) Or maybe he sabotaged them because he doesn't want Ken to trigger his extension, couldn't blame him really.

Never change Janus you Muppet. Have to be a paid employee of the club with the defence you put up for every ridiculous thing they do. But hey, tenth and loving it.

If he stays after all this we can hope he does an Amon.

Janus, he had 2 very average games up forward for the year.

So kicked 2 goals against crap sides like Adelaide & Stkilda in smashings. He didn't do anything against Geelong like you stated, 10 disposals no goals and 3 marks?

He's a defender.

You can't expect breakout performances in the forward line after putting 3 years into him in defence.

Your rambling defences of the club are reeking of desperation even more than usual of late.

Lets be honest here, Hinkley would make peak Franklin look ordinary so what chance did Doogs have up forward.

I didn’t say he deliberately sabotaged the team playing finals. I said that his performance against Brisbane and Richmond was a liability and proved why he wasn’t in the team in the first place.

He’s actually not that good a defender.

He did show that he could be a great forward with his performance against St Kilda.

Howard is 24 years old next year. He’s not a kid anymore, and he should be showing more than glimpses of talent. That’s for guys like Ladhams, Farrell and Garner.

Dixon/Howard/Marshall doesn’t work if you’re also going to be playing Ladhams up forward next year.

Jonas/Clurey/Howard doesn’t work if you’re also going to be playing Watts down back next year.

So by the time Howard gets a shot, he’ll be a free agent and be complaining about how he he’s been stuck behind better defenders and better forwards - and get you zero in compensation.

It’s all part of Operation Lukosius.

I don’t look at his goals. I was at the game and saw his work ethic and how he moved to open up space for others. How he halved the contest and brought the ball to ground and made something out of nothing. I saw his 5 score involvements and 3 one percenters.

He had an acceptable game against Geelong.

Fck that's getting old quick not to mention the kid is miles off living up to the hype.

I just threw that in because I knew it would annoy you :)
