If we used our end of round 1 compo this year it would have been pick 27 would it not?

Now we get pick 26 and another pick later that in an uncompromised draft will be pick 40-odd.

Good deal I say and give us that extra pick to use without burning all of it. :thumbsu:
Would have been 31. After the Brissy one. So pick 31 for 26 and another pick. Though hard to compare drafts.

Krakouer pick is a mid 2nd rounder yer? Might be about a 10 pick downgrade for a pick 26.

mediaely after Port Adelaide's second round selection in the draft in 2012-2014 (have to choose at the start of the year).

If Port sucks in 2013 (presuming we do not activate in 2012) then it could be as high as 20-22

Good stuff. I like it. Especially if we don't choose something rubbish at 26

everyones gonna use their compo picks next year so it would have ended being higher than pick 30

pick 26 is a pretty good result on top of the krakouer compo pick which would be around 45 or something next year in a top draft wel probably use it or could be a good bargaining tool

overall im glad we got another first rounder and now we all have something to look forward to in the draft

Use pick 15, 26, 55. 73 maybe for a rookie upgrade. See who's available in the PSD, if Macaffer is in the mix then get him on board.

Krakouer pick will never be 25. Could be about 29 if there are no compos in the same year. Remembering there is 18 first rounders every year now and 10 non-finals teams we have to wait for.

Nah, disagree. If we wait to 2013, Port finish third last, there would be 18 first rounders, priority picks (say 2) and those band 2 or band 3 compos taken in 2013

ahh, that's yonks away. we'll see

Just to clear some things up.

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/crows-fuming-over-compensation-for-bock-20100902-14rmg.html

Port Adelaide will receive an extra second-round pick in any one of the 2010-2014 national drafts as compensation for Nathan Krakouer, who has also signed with the Gold Coast Suns.
The compensation pick, based on a fourth-band selection, will be placed immediately after its round-two selection in the year it opts to use the pick

Very astute trading by the Tigers if true, not much of a downgrade as it's a pick directly after ours instead of an End of round pick.

Obviously, we are chasing someone in the 2011 draft just as someone said, this year. Remember we do not have to use the Krakeour compo next year and if we do not the difference between the 2 compos would be less i assume. Smart trade possibly. The question is it comes down to who we are chasing, I have my hopes up but if we waste it on a dud I will be fuming. don't mind it in principle possibly in retrospect

Apologies thought the pick came after all non-finals teams? If it comes after Port's pick then great. It's like a free pick 26 :D

so yes assuming port adelaide finish bottom 4 again the pick will be around 30-35 with all the end of first round selections being used as well

it would be around 20-25 if no first round compensation pick will be used

Now that its our compo pick pretty sure that means we use it straight after our 2nd round pick not Ports. Its not Ports pick anymore so where they finish doesnt have a bearing on when it will be used

Should save it then. Genius work again. We got Morris for free and if we hold to the 2013 draft its a free pick 26 as well. Come on Port suck it up for a few more years :D

Nah compo picks stay attached to the team that they originated from.

Thanks for that confirmation, I had assumed it was an end of second rounder. That's even better :thumbsu:

There's 2 types isn't there - the kind that go after your pick in the year you nominate, ie if you have pick 15, the compo becomes pick 16, and the kind that is simply an end of round compensation, ie it goes at the end of the designated round regardless of where you finish. I'm not sure which one the Krakouer compo is...

List changes for 2012 - As is stands

Senior List
In: Maric, Morris, 15, 26, 55, 73
Out: Morton

Rookies
In:
Out: Hicks, Hislop ,Westhoff

this ones like the one melbourne got for tom scully which say is if melbourne finish last and get pick one they will also get pick 2 if the pick is activated. this pick will always depend on where melbourne finish

so for our case its wherever port finish next year. if they finish last it will be pick 20 barring NO compensation picks are used which is extremely unlikely in such a good draft

good trading craig cameron, basically got pick 26 for nix this year:thumbsu:
