+1. Yarran's a natural and game day performer......I hope we can just accept he may not look like he's busting a gut on the training track, and build a bridge.....if we start getting posts about this ad-nauseam it is going to get whiskers on it very quickly.

Thing is, if the team is struggling and he has a quiet day and his body language isn't up to scratch then people will get on his back. That's just the way it is. It's like the way people are with Fevola - love him but when he spits the dummy he's everyone's worst enemy :p

needs to get a bat to make some runs

cant see the point ragging a player as talented as Yazz at this stage.....give the guy a chance to show what he can do when he crosses that white line

I have a feeling he's gonna dance a sweet little 2-step once the real stuff starts. This is a young bloke who couldn't look you in the eye 12 months ago due to shyness. Cut him some slack he's not quite playing piggy-backs with CJ and 25 just yet.

Nah, nothing like that, just looked a bit lost all the time. Like others have said, I don't think it's any real cause for concern, I'm sure he'll find his groove pretty quick smart

Yeah, lets give him a chance to settle in, he is 17yo and just moved teams/house/state etc..

Some people have the personality to thrive in all these changes, however most often it will take some time to get familiar with all this stuff and feel relaxed.

Robbo could one of those that when nervous or confronted with change, goes like a bull at a gate, where as Yarran may be one of those who hangs back and just gets a feel for everything before warming up.

Each to their own, one thing is for sure though, whatever personality they have, only time will show whether they can play the game at the highest level. Any speculation so early on, is only that!!!

Given the awesome qualities of our recent early picks , in character, attitude and ability, Im happy to trust that the recruitment team have again done all of their homework.

Off topic I know but........ Im still struggling to believe that we got Robbo at pick 40 when we had him rated at 9!!!!!!:thumbsu::cool:.

Also i noticed Judd and Walker are inseparable at training, and from what i've read Judd has taken him under his wing this pre season.Just looking at the two together they are so similar in size and athletism, there pace and indurance...if Walker starts playing with the same footy mindset as Judd..... Lookout everyone!!!!

If only Walker could dispose of the pill like Judd and Judd could fly for screamers like Walker...

In all honesty, I'm very worried that Yarran looks slack on the training track.

If he doesn't lift his game on the track he wont be selected to play.
The shyness could be on the money.

I remember Hughes being interviewed after the draft talking about meeting Yarran for the first time and he couldn't find him, he had snuck out because he was very shy. WH got to know him over the years and said by last year CY was the first to walk up to him and say hello.

Obviously a shy kid who once he feels comfortable will come out of his shell.

Nothing like a couple of goals in an NAB cup game to get him settled.

As for getting knocked off his feet....first they have to catch him....then try and shift him.......lets give him a little more than 3 weeks before we throw him to the preverbial wolves.;)

Exactly what I was thinking. Creepily, I think it was TG who dubbed him "man-child". Good luck knocking this bloke off his feet. Be like tipping an SEC sub-station on its side.

pfft, the industry was privatised more than ten years ago thy. You now have a choice of a Jemena, SP Ausnet, Citipower or Powercor substations.:)

Yeah right. Next you'll tell me the MMBW is out of business.

Ever thought he might have looked lost and stand-offish because he was participating in new drills?
When training under a new coach/new drills players can look like that because they aren't sure what to do. Some drills are a bit complicated for some reguardless how they play the game and it's best to take a step back and watch the blokes who have it figured out do it first before going 100% at it.

No way. They're still operating out of the building in Spencer St aren't they? BTW, should I be withdrawing my life savings from the State Savings Bank of Victoria, or will they be ok?

They'll be fine. And my mate Crabby said Pyramid is just a media beat-up as well. Leave your money where it is, all good. :thumbsu:

Out of interest, how did Hadley train.

He is one hard player we need running of half back/on ball!!

From what I can remember (and Hads isn't one of those faces I have ingrained in the memory) he was training with the "main" group when they were doing stoppage work (think Judd, Gibbs, Walker etc) and seemed to be getting amongst it.
