34 Junior Arch

He’s different to the other HBFs as he is a shutdown defender rather than a rebounder so I don’t think he is competing with them for a spot. He is more competing with LMac. Good overhead and brave as his surname suggests. Overtrained last pre-season and missed half the season with the resultant injuries. Hard to fault his enthusiasm but looks like this pre-season is being better managed. Don’t reckon he plays rd 1.

I feel sorry for this bloke. Plays in the midfield in the VFL & gets stacks of possies but doesn’t play as a mid in the AFL. We need to find a defined role for him. Played a bit of midfield in the Suns game and did well. Perhaps we could use his speed and ball winning ability on the wing or as a high HF. Probably playing for his career.

Is there an update on Arden St ground resurfacing? I was driving past the other day and there wasn’t any signs of any work going on other than temp fencing around the ground. There were sprinklers on and looked like the resurfacing had either been completed or hasn’t started yet. Obviously hope it’s the former

Well all the grass was dug up weeks ago so I’m going to assume the grass you saw is the new grass

Enjoying the write ups mate!

Going off all the training reports, I reckon the club see him as a 22 player, ALOT of the set attacking plays from half back start with the ball in Goater’s hands.

Would absolutely love to see him have a genuine break out year across half back. His ceiling is still so high.

Agree and he’s has a point of difference to the Bergman’s, McKercher, Stephens, Fisher - @ 190cm,87kg , he’s much bigger.

Miller is classy in his own way and the coaches like what he brings too but Goater with his wing, mid ability is pretty handy.

Fingers crossed he can really step up with Logue out to provide some height down there.
There is a player in there. He has a blistering worm burner (7/10) kick and some really good wheels that can move laterally mid run. He has the attributes to be a best 22 player. These are the types that will surround our stars. Hopefully he has a good run pre season and can be involved from round 1 on halfback but will probably start on the pine
