I’ll be filthy if he goes on to become a decent stopper, I’ve been saying he is AFL quality for the last two years.
Mate 18 clubs have not selected him in those 2 yrs , so it’s not only our club

Yeah this. No one was seemingly interested, even us with our borderline deplorable backline. Only desperate Hawthorn have a look after copping a few injuries. He's Joel Tippett.

I was very impressed with Leigh Adams press conference after the game. Very positive and took the opportunity to give the "lesser known players ", like Laz and K. Dawson a big pat on the back, for their efforts in the preseason.
I was super impressed too. I was left with what feels like a better understanding why Korne-Francises clashed with him. Patch wouldn't be giving his love out for free like Uncle Kenny, it needs to be well earned.

Are you paying me for my time? If not - don’t tell me what to do.

You can’t sit here and put him up on a pedestal saying how he kept X player goalless - yet his poor disposal kills us 70% of the time.
So 70% of Lmac disposals are poor and that kills us?

Or are you just making shit up?

roos_fanatic08 ‘s point is that he will be filthy because he has been saying for two years the bloke is AFL quality.
I trust his judgment on talent too.

You’re right, but how many goals did he cost us from his turnovers lol. For an AFL captain who has been in the system for so long it’s borderline laughable

I agree for sure that he makes too many mistakes disposing of the footy. Maybe he can focus on defending, which he does relatively well, and leaves the offence to sheez, Kerch, Goater and Scott.

I know, but this is my personal opinion, it’s not so much a dig at the club. Historically, there have been plenty of players who have been overlooked by all clubs for multiple years before proving themselves at AFL level. Our very own development coach Mick Barlow is the perfect example of that.

Tim Kelly, Liam Ryan, Dayne Zorko, Isaac Smith, Ben Brown all good examples of players who were overlooked across multiple drafts. Plenty more than that out there too.

Put it in better words than me mate! Not a dig at the club just purely my opinion that I think Phillips has more than enough tools to be a solid AFL player. At a minimum he is going to be a decent player imo.

I’m hoping inside 40pts
Really hope not 70+ as these type losses in preseason have been a good indicator for the season proper in the last 4-5 years.
I just want to see the system hold up multiple times and I want to see our midfields go head to head and ours come out on top.

Someone (not me) presenting a claim that he kept X player goalless is an assertion which is easily verified by the stat sheet. You responded with a rhetorical question that was not supported - that his disposal leads to presumably many goals against us. So you just want to make shit up and you refuse to back up your big claims with facts. If you're not going to show how you arrived at the assertion that his errant kicking has resulted in a certain number goals against us that you won't specify, then at least show how you arrived at the conclusion that 70% of his disposals are turnovers.

His first kick in AFL was to Chapman who kicked a goal playing at his new club *

For what it's worth, here is a source that shows LMac has the most turnovers per disposal of anyone in the AFL at one point (couldn't find anything for last year). Anecdotally, it definitely feels like a major weakness for him still.

This is a side note, but I have also found it really odd all preseason that Corr is supposedly so important for his leadership in the backline, when we have a literal captain, who is captain because of his leadership qualities rather than pure footy ability, back there. Like shouldn't LMac be doing the leading of the defence???? That is a hard one to fathom, for me at least.

Mate, how can you knock someone else who actually provided some statistics by responding with completely unsubstantiated statements.????

Back it up with the stats. Its called accountability in any other environment where claims like yours are made.
