Because he has looked even more damaging and dominant when he has pushed further up the ground.
Did he though? He didn’t play up the ground all that much last year. Across half back he was still able to link up up the ground and provide an impact.
There are 3 main reasons why I want him to stay at half back:
- he is the quickest player out there, half back allows him the space he needs to be damaging. He doesn’t get AS MUCH space in the forward line or through the midfield.
- I want the ball in his hands…and It’s easier to to accumulate behind the ball and setup plays across half back than it is in the midfield.
- we have no obvious replacement across half back who can play the role he plays with the effectiveness that he plays it with.
If fisher and Kerch are both playing back - you’d think sheez wont be as we need some guys that can actually defend
Sheez was pretty handy in the one on ones. Fisher won’t be a good one on one defender and Kerch’s speed is better utilised in and around the centre bounces imo.
