Biggie getting good praise

I went down for the first session of the year and took some shots. It was oppressively hot and there is no shade at La Trobe. If you're going down on either sunny or rainy day, bring an umbrella. Personally, I'll be investing in one of those ridiculous umbrella hats.

I also took some notes:

  • Elvis rocking an earring and sunnies while walking laps.
  • Heaps of players wearing his number 40. Haha...
  • Brayden rocking the fluro pink cap. Looked happy the whole session. Much different to last year. His energy reminds me of LMac. His arms and legs are muscular, but he has no fat on him. He's chunky in the Petracca mould, but he doesn't need need to lose weight like Trac did when he came in. It was very exciting to see him kicking the footy. It stays kicked.
  • Brutal running session in 2 groups. Timed between intervals. First time I've seen it at North in 2 groups like that. Only other club I saw do it last year was Collingwood. Drury vomited at the end.
  • The talk is different his year. There was enthusiasm for the challenge. I could here them getting around the strugglers like Hansen Jnr.
  • The skills seemed much sharper to my eye.
  • Moose very vocal and an absolute competitor. Similar intensity to Chom. You can see it in his eyes every time he goes in. I would have him straight in for Round 1. Let's see what he can do.
  • Jy giving Fisher some stick about disposal while in possession and searching for an option during a drill. He really got into him. Monky was similar. There's some spirit and mongrel they are trying to grow. I'm a fan of this also.
  • Colby is lightning. Fasten your seatbelts folks. His personality is clear to see in the photos.
  • Duursma very slight build right now. We may not see him for a while because we don't want the opposition isolating him one on one yet. On a lead or with a run-up, he's an absolute headache for the opposition. You need a tall to beat him in the air, but they probably won't beat him for space.
  • I really want Lazz to get a mid opportunity early. He leaves nothing on the track and looked a million bucks yesterday.
  • Biggie the early leader of the tall defenders for Round 1.
  • Chom still jogging laps and building fitness. I don't think he's too far away.

We arguing about drills now?

Next we gonna argue about where the water bottles should be positioned.

I preferred the good old days of last week or as it’s become known as ‘Shark Week’ and chat about Lake Eildon or as we know it here as now as the equivalent of Italy’s Lake Como

Lack of discussion around Drillgate is a worry

Any idea what to do when these come up as an “Unsupported Video”?

Sent from my iPhone using BigFooty.com
Well I suggest putting on a jockstrap or bra, depending on your inclination and watch the now supported video to your hearts content.

Another one that will benefit from a full pre-season. Last year, both in the AFL and VFL, when in a goal kicking position he routinely chose to give it off rather than take the shot. This is not surprising for a young Indgenous mid year draftee from a country league. Will need his defensive skills to be top notch if he is to have an extended run. We only have 2 small forwards on the list so depending on our preferred structure opportunity awaits.
Kid could be a bit of a bolter this season

Good summary of what will make Duursma special. Key forward-like in the air midfielder-like on the ground.

I'd love to see Maley earn a round 1 spot. An AFL standard version of him is a good match with our other forwards.

Underwhelming training by the sounds of it?

Placed a question mark at the end of a question.

How’s that bringing it down Colbys Boots ?

And read the posts above my post; comments about lack of social media pics/vids and lack of any detail about the training suggests an underwhelming training session, which in posts afterwards have suggested it wasn’t

Any you can jam the Bringdown comment up your chop; have a peak into the 2024 predictions and see where I’ve put us

Sounds to me like a cheap shot at me by dragging me into your argument with someone else

You like chum in the water Gaso

Or Chom?

Last one. The coach

There are two questions directed at the century’s winingest coach: did he get all the flags only due to the extreme talent on the list eg Buddy and as the flags were a while ago is he up with current game styles. This is his chance to show it wasn’t all happenstance. The talent is there, his drive is there. He and we will have to be patient but he seems a perfect fit for a young, hungry group.
Appreciate all the player (and coach) reviews again this year WD. Insightful analysis and something to keep us up and about during the quiet months 👍

You know that I was stern looking all the way through training so why would you post this?
Oh so you where there? So what is this "hearing" you were alluding to? Why not simply post well guys I was at training and it is not the way I saw it? Or better still give us a breakdown of how training went and who in your eyes looked good etc. That's why I posted "this". :stern look
