Any news on Josh Carmichael? I liked the look him last year but thought he needed to build up his tank over the pre season.
And he has. His fitness is through the roof now. Came 2nd in the time trial.
I'm excited about what he can do this year. I was watching some of last years games last night when he played or came on as the sub, and just knows how to play. Even when he didn't have the fitness. Imagine what he can do now he is fit.

WHE will play. We have no alternative across a season. The kids maybe fit beep test wise, it’s a completely different proposition applying that to games. Draftees tend to come in, have a go for a few games and are then dropped.

That’s the same mentality that kept Thomas and Mayne in a regular spot on the list. Yet moving them both on has unearthed options for others to take. All things being equal, WHE will be a bit part player this season and will be even less next if he is still kept on the list.

The shift of position is a positive sign, that those who should know, see that he doesn’t impact the contest. And only participates if the ball is given or at advantage for him. There are more with greater upside than he has left in him.

It’ll be disappointing with all our depth that he is still a regular by midway through the season.

Yeah, not sure I own anything jaunty. Not much use sitting on the rail with 50 knots on the nose.

Surely you must own and wear a leather puffer jacket? I will invest in one next year so Kirby will have no trouble recognising me at the footy.

I’m not so sure about that. WHE can be reliable with disposal, but he racks up about 11 touches per game, doesn’t apply physical pressure, and doesn’t impact much. I’d prefer to see guys like Carmichael, Harrison, and even Richards in the team, as I think they’ll all double his possessions, and bring some much needed X factor to the team. If some of those boys aren’t deemed as ready now, they might as well pack up and go to NM, as they can def play first team football. Whilst WHE isn’t part of our future plans…

Why you say that Jen2310?
his body is more mature, he is ready. He is pretty explosive in the back half, not just because of his mullet. But has a bit of flair, pace and can read the play so well.

None of which can play the role he plays half forward and through the wing. He is super smart.

We're going for a flag, not just investing in the future champ.

He isn’t playing a role that accumulates possession. He’s there to plug holes in transition defence and to provide an alternate target forward again in transition. Playing as a HF is equally difficult. He has been given a role to play, these are difficult and I think he will manage it better than any of the young kids will over a season.

Don’t disagree there, I don’t think the others have the tank to run all day for 23 games plus finals…Mayne retired, was a great contributor in my view.
